Machete — Restaurant in San Juan

Beware of this place. Last two times I’ve been there I end up with a problem. First time they put drinks that were not mine in the ticket and got mad at me for calling it out and last time I went for a couple drinks and it was about to close so they start kicking us out and charge me really quick, didn’t gave me a receipt and kicked us out. This morning when I check my card transactions they charged me double of what it was supposed to be the ticket with the tip added. They told me they can’t do anything about it. NO MORE CHANCES...

I cannot say enough positive things about Machete bar. The bartender was quick, amiable, and appreciative of my taste in whiskey. Puerto Rico is a rum town, so not many places stock a decent whiskey bar, but Machete probably had the finest I experienced during my trip. We weren't there for food, but to get some guidance on the local art scene. We were not disappointed. Definitely check out Machete when you're in the area, and tip the bartenders because they may give you a free shot of dark rum if you show...

Great drinks and good people in there on a Thursday night. But the sound quality was so painful. Half the time you'd have no idea what song is playing--just noise. And the payment system is so slow. They take your credit card and then hang out at the point of sale machine for a few minutes. Ever heard of Google Pay? It's done in 5 seconds.
