We were looking for a quick bite before we got back on the road to return to Los Angeles. Although it is a distinct building, we drove right past it! It fit the bill - we arrived between lunch and dinner rush, and basically had the place to ourselves.
There is booth and counter seating with small cocktail area; very casual no frills cozy diner with large outdoor covered patio dining space serving breakfast lunch and dinner. There isa even an 0old juke box, and the walls are lined with black and white photos showing the history of the diner. Menu includes soup and salad, sandwiches, omelettes and dinners such as meat loaf.

Read moreThe ambiance and service is nice. The food ranged from mediocre to pretty bad. This town has pretty bad food all around which is odd, it could have high quality stuff given so much grows nearby but its largely Sysco truck "cooking". My dish was very oily with big chunks of pork fat. The syrup is corn based not maple syrup, the butter isn't real butter, pretty sure those pancakes are straight bisquik, and the vegetables were over done. It isn't seasoned with any skill, just a ton of something dark red thrown on top. The coffee which is $3.25, is First Street; that dish water stuff you get from the newspaper stand off the subway stop. This is the norm in this cute town...the bar is pretty low, so if you're into that, this might be just what you're looking for. There isn't a good alternative nearby - Sally Loos is just as mediocre but more expensive. Downtown maybe? I don't know, I have been striking out. The water is real bad, real real bad, everyone should be filtering their water here otherwise it tastes like...
