This place has really slow , rude and terrible service with serving size really less and Do not order Biryani because it tastes like fried rice!! For full story on my experience please read below!
I went there on a Saturday evening with my family with 2 kids, we order our food (chai to begin with, paneer and chicken tikka masala, biryani, naan) I think that order is a pretty common order for a North Indian restaurant. And then our food didn’t come for another hour, not even chai. The kids were starving and starting to get restless so we ask them when will the food be coming, their answer (we are preparing someone else’s food, next is your turn).
We were firstly shocked as it’s not a fast food joint, it’s a restaurant. But they were only preparing one table at a time.
Then food came in another 15mins. The serving size was really less compared to other restaurants we have been too. So not anticipating that we tried to order one more thing and they said it will take another 1.5 hours if we order now as they will first prepare for some other table and then come back to us. So obviously we didn’t order!!
And about food, Biryani did not taste or look anything like Biryani, it was exactly like fried rice. We ordered some extra raita which came in a really small bowl and they charged us another $5 for it. Chai was terrible too, tasted like elaichi milk.
This just blew my mind!! I am never going back there again, ever!! If you are going to go...
Read moreWow! Just mind blowing w flavor! Gonna say this is the best food in SLO period! The quality, pride and thoughtfulness shines in each dish! Newly reopened and doing amazing things to bring healthy, flavorful options to our community! Top tier ingredients and service is well worth the money and drive to SLO! As a vegetarian married to a meat eater it is a struggle to fine a place that can accommodate us both and still be quality cuisine and this place gives that and more w it’s unique street food twist on classic Indian cuisine! We ordered the Aloo Chat, Samosa Chat, lentil soup and 1/2 tandoori chicken. I was able to eat everything minus the chicken of course and never happens at a restaurant as a vegetarian we are often forgotten and given only salad options, well let me tell you we are starving and want a hot yummy meal too and this is exactly what I got here! They’re gonna have the restaurant scene shook as soon as people realize SLO has some culture on the scene! We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us if this is only the beginning in their journey! Best of wishes and Huge thank you to the owner and his family we had to best meal on the central coast in a long time! Cal poly if you’ve had the yummy Indian food on campus this is where it comes from! Run don’t walk and hope you can catch them! Food was so good we didn’t even have time to take a picture it was gone and we will be...
Read moreThe food was ok. But, service is horrible (and that's an understatement). They seemed to be serving everyone else except us in the restaurant. There were two parties (of 5 and 2) still ordering and tables empty when we came in around 6 PM on a Thursday. Another party of 4 joined 15 mins after we came in. We ordered a salad, veg pakoras, an entree and couple of breads. They seemed to start our order only after all the other parties were fully served. In fact the parties of 2 and 5 left before our food was served. By the time our food was served, the party that came in after us also wrapped up. It was a little obvious why we were served last but, I don't want to suggest it since it was our first time here. Maybe it was a genuine mistake, but it sure was frustrating.
We were already hungry when we came in and when we checked with the waiter after half an hour, she was super rude as well. Finally, after 45 mins after ordering, our food was served. It was edible or so I felt (maybe because my hunger had gotten to my head by then). So, if you're a customer stopping here during your road trip looking for desi food, look forward to a good and long...
