Taco Bar — Restaurant in San Marcos

I don't work close to taco bar but decided to make the drive for lunch. I ordered lunch for my office and when I got back we realized we were missing food that they charged us for. I called the restaurant and asked for the manager. I could hear him telling the employee to tell me that he wasn't in and to take a message. I called back 4 hours later and asked for the manager. Same thing he was in and told his employees to tell me he wasn’t. I told the employee to let his manager know that I personally know he’s there and to stop avoiding my calls. The manager immediately called me back and assured me that I would receive my money back and an office employee would personally call me to issue refund over the phone.

UPDATE: Managers WIFE just called me and asked if I was the one "who left the yelp review” then refused to void my transaction or refund my money if I didn't go in person and show my ID. I told her she could do it over the phone and she confirmed that she could but in this case refused to do so. HORRIBLE customer service from management. Can’t even call it customer service...

After hearing rants and raves from friends. One who eats each time he drives down from Anaheim for work. We were finally in the area to grab some lunch there.

The ambiance inside felt nice, I liked that you could see straight into the kitchen and watch them cook. One of the chefs was busy away prepping a cactus, it felt very authentic.

My wife and I both ordered California Burritos and we were not disappointing. The meat was tender and flavorful. The tortillas were massive, a personal favorite. We both loved that the burritos came with guacamole and sour cream standard, and I love that the guacamole was chunky pieces of avocado and not pureed.

My usual main search when I find a Mexican restaurant is how good the salsa is. This place had good chipotle salsa, although a little more watered down than I would prefer. I sampled the habanero salsa and did not get the habanero flavor I was hoping for.

I’ll never EVER EVER COME BACK 😂this place was garbage . I ordered carnitas tacos and the meat tasted like 2 week old grease. CHANGE THE GREASE!!😭the meat tasted so bad. It had absolutely NO FLAVOR. Thank god I grabbed some salsa lol cuz the salsa took away the horrible two week old grease taste. I tried a couple bites thinking maybe the salsa would help but it didn’t and felt extremely sick. The bathroom I really don’t want to talk about lol after I forced down the 2 week old grease tacos bites I ended up having to puke🤮😭 went into the bathroom and boy it was NASTAY!! Do you all even clean them? Lol just curious. Looked like the Tasmanian devil wrote his name n shxt on the walls😮😂I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. The service was good but the food lol well if you want 2 week old grease tacos and a shxtty...
