I ordered a pick up order , 2 entrees both with rice and another side. second entree was with rice and I asked for naan. The man on phone said you want 2 rice? I said yes of i thought he meant 2 sides in total. I did. It realize at the time that he heard me say 2 sides of rice with the second entree. When we picked it up , in the car I saw that he charged me for 2 rice on the second entree, and I was missing my naan. I immediately understood the honest misunderstanding . So I went back inside to explain, instead of being understanding the man immediately fired back at me with a “I specifically confirmed with you 2 sides of rice,” he was visibly annoyed with me I tried to explain to him but felt like he wasn’t really listening to me and tells someone to get a naan and then turns to me to say I need to go back to the car and get the rice and bring it back.
Completely made me feel like he’s accusing me of something over a naan. I have a 2 year old in the car crying for her naan and this guy makes me go back to the car and bring him the extra rice container before he will give me the naan. It’s fine if your going to be rude and cheap over 30 cents of rice you gave me , keep your rice I will go back to curry craft in San Marcos where they aren’t rude and make the customer feel like a liar when it’s just a mistake over 30 cents of rice. Good luck with your business I will be telling everyone I know not to patronize this...
Read moreWe did not like the food here. I've been to the Curry and More in Oceanside, which I thought was decent. So we decided to try this location. It definitely has a more Indian restaurant feel to it than the Oceanside location so I had higher hopes. We ordered the Frontier Boti Kebab as it was publicized as their "signature", the coconut chicken curry with a side of jeera aloo and daal and a garlic and basil naan and plain naan.
The signature was not good. As an Indian, I'm used to kebabs being chicken or lamb based, which means that the meat is more tender. A kebab also has smaller pieces. The beef was not tender, in fact, it was very chewy. The marinated spices were kind of non-existent on the beef itself. They were just on the plate and on the veggies, which were delicious tasting by the way. The coconut chicken was decent. The jeera aloo side was the best of the lot, which says a lot about what we thought of the main entrees. The daal was bland.
I think the worst offender however, was the garlic and basil naan. When you think garlic and basil naan, you want to see garlic piece, basil leaves and butter. This naan had garlic powder (blasphemy!), dried basil and zero butter. It was on the harder side and just not good. I love my garlic naans. The more garlic, the better! This one ranks as one of the worst naans I have eaten.
We will not return as we expected more from this visit than what we...
Read moreBeen here at least 10 times in the past 3 years. Food is fantastic! Visited with my family last night and will never ever return. I don't know how one man can completely ruin an experience to warrant us from never returning. The other reviewers are right about the owner. In the past he would just stand in the front and mind his own business and greet the customers. Last night he did exactly what the other reviewers were complaining about. He hovered over our table trying to hurry us up. Instead of a waiter assisting us he decided to take care of our table and the other tables. He came to our table many times if we were ready to order drinks, apps and dinner. We said we needed a few minutes please. Then he said well you need to order dinner because our kitchen is closing at 7:40pm and said it very rudely. My mom ordered garlic naan and he gave us plain naan. He proceeded to argue with my mom insisting she ordered the plain. Instead of making it right and getting us a garlic naan, he walked away. Because the bussers were so kind I gave a 20% tip but will never ever return again. In all my years of dining experiences I have never been continuously treated this rudely. He was doing the same thing to the table next to us. I don't know what happened to this establishment, it's sad to see it drop...
