Let me say first, I've been in town about 6 months but this was one of the first restaurants i went to check out. I didn't know anyone so i sat up at the bar. I have always had the most amazing service, bartenders, and food (especially the bbq chicken)! Plus delivery - score!
I feel especially prompted to write a review tonight.
I witnessed an especially difficult customer walk in and sit alone at the bar (as i was). From the beginning, she tasted and REtasted multiple wine samples trying to make a decision (seriously circled back around through the choices). She ended up with one eventually.
Every item she ordered she needed special exceptions (I'm not talking no cheese, or even a triple-soy-half-caf-sugar-free-watchyoumacallot) this was beyond. ALSO, i watched her complain that she could use some silverware, when the bartender pointed out the red napkin and that she had given her silverware, she found them in her lap...
When she got her orders, she literally flicked an item from her plate to the bar inspecting it. She said they were not correct but i don't think anyone could've met her wishes. She even backtracked on some of the items she explicitly asked for. She ultimately refused several offers to remake the dishes.
Turns out multiple staff have had a similar experience with the woman but this will likely be the last. As she left she wished everyone bad karma and negative energy... Happy New year!
My point in expressing all the details is to highlight that this customer was beyond ridiculous and i watched the entire gaspares staff handle it with grace - only adding points in my book. I don't think i could've held my cool in the same situation as I was already pretty rattled from where i was.
Thank you Gaspares, Anna, Christian, and everyone else for keeping your regular customers...
Read moreI have been coming here for over 14 years. Great pizza and friendly family atmosphere. Last night had a very bad experience. I ordered Linguine with clams, in a white sauce, and gluten free pasta. The menu says they have gluten free pasta and Ive had it there before. What arrived as my dinner was rotini and an olive oil and canned clam juice. What I expected to get was a linguine style and an Alfredo sauce. Nothing about it was white, nor was I explained to the gluten free pasta was nothing like a linguini style (I would have been o.k. with a spaghetti ) and again the sauce was just olive oil. The dish was expensive like $27.00 having paid extra $2.00 for the gluten free. I was very disappointed and really hated my dinner. I expect to be told by the waiter that if I order gluten free linguini dishit is only available in rotini style and it is not an Alfredo sauce which typically represents a white sauce. I will still go occasionally for their pizza but it has really changed my feeling for Gaspares and will only order pizza in the future if I choose to go back at all. That is not a good way to do business, I am a very unhappy customer, I should have been told. I do hope Danny reads all...
Read moreAte there twice in a week. 1st round of take out was almost excellent. Ordered the veal parm and cheese tortellini, excellent! Also ordered the worst garlic bread I've ever eaten. In fact I've never had bad garlic bread before, anywhere. Would have been nice if they would have let me know they were giving large amounts of free bread when I ordered the garlic bread, that was absolutely inedible. It had what seemed like 2 cloves of choped garlic on top of each piece of bread, literally could not eat it. You would think during all this time of take out and delivery only, they would remember to put utensils in the bag, but no. Got back to the hotel we were staying at, luckily the hotel manager at the Villa Inn walked over to their closed restaurant and got us utensils. 2nd time we ordered pizza. Pizza ingredients were amazing, outer part of the crust was good middle part of the crust was soggy. And again, being take out you would think they would ask if you needed any napkins, nope, or anything else. They did supply one little bag of fresh parm cheese and 1 little package of...
