I recently visited Poke Don, and overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, but when I arrived—nearly an hour after opening—all the tables and chairs were still set aside, making the space feel uninviting for dine-in guests.
The staffing seemed limited, with only one employee working. He appeared a bit stressed, which was understandable given the number of customization options for each poke bowl. However, service was still efficient, and my order was prepared in a reasonable amount of time.
As for the food, I ordered a medium poke bowl with brown rice and salad, spicy tuna, salmon, and octopus. The ingredients were fresh, and the variety of options available was great. The portion sizes were appropriate—not overly generous but also not stingy.
While I would recommend trying Poke Don, it’s not necessarily a must-visit spot. If you’re in the area and craving poke, it’s a solid choice, but it doesn’t stand out as exceptional. 4 out of 5 stars.
Would I return? Yes. But I’d hope for a more inviting setup for dine-in...
Read moreBeing a consultant is hard work. I mean lots of time spent driving and traveling, but the pay is too good to switch career anytime soon. Only 5.3% of my net pay is spend eating out in a year, the rest are from clients. On this day, I was called upon Poke Don prior to their soft opening, but couldn't make it. A few months went by before I finally made it. This place is clean and organize with a easy to understand menu and concept. You know money and effort was put into the place. Staff are young and diverse waiting eagerly to make you bowl. My bowl was worthy in weight and presentation. Fish are fresh and not smelly as nothing was masking the potential flavors of each fish. I didn't opt for full choice toppings as I went a little here and there, but turns...
Read moreFirst time here, let the employees know that right off the bat - felt some negative energy from the guy who was helping me - I didn’t know what I was selecting yet I had to take some time to make my selections there was no one else in the store so I was not holding up a line . Not friendly at all very mono tone - I know he could speak a bit more courteously because after he took my order and gave me my food he was having a full on conversation with the female employee that was there. So basically he doesn’t think he needs to be polite or friendly to customers - the ones who spend their money there in order for him to have a job. Did not get a thank you or have a nice night or please come again Won’t be back there again that guy rubbed me...
