I bricked my Pixel 7 trying to charge it using an Anker Power bank by plugging it in incorrectly so that the Power Bank was being charged by the phone rather than the correct direction. Fried my motherboard. At the repair shop it was possible to recover the data but the cost was going to be anywhere between 1K and 1.5K. So I went to the Victra store in San Ramon, where I bought the 7 to see what I could do cost wise to replace the 7. Rohan was able to give me a massive credit on the fried 7 for a 9 and even was able to offer my wife a 9 to replace her 7 for a fraction of the retail cost. Fearing I had lost all my data because I could not do a phone-to-phone transfer, I was frankly shocked that all my texts, which I was using from another app, not Google's Messages app survived though now place into Messages. Huge relief. Though I wasn't sure if my wife wanted to replace her 7 once she okayed it, Rohan personally drove to the Danville store to get another 9 because there were no more 9's in the San Ramon store. So we're now up and running though for both of us, our respective language translation apps did not get transferred to the 9's. I researched on Gemini how to transfer a single app but I wasn't too keen on messing everything up so I will head back to the store for some expert help. Bottom line, Rohan was terrific, helping me out, great personable service. Absolutely saved my day. Big shout out to Rohan.
UPDATE: Another kudo to Rohan. 2 days after the above review somehow my wife's texting app Textra failed to show her texts. She received texts normally but when she replied, her text did not appear in the bubble. I tried everything AI suggested I do. Nothing worked. Thinking that somehow the data transfer to her new 9 corrupted the Textra app I went back to see Rohan. She was so p'od that if he couldn't fix it she wanted to transfer back to her old 7. Rohan figured out that when I changed the default bubble colors to match her colors before the transfer, I forgot to change the color of the text itself which is white by default. So, with a white bubble and white text color, duh, no visible text! Stupid me. He showed me features on the app I wasn't aware of even though I had no idea if he was conversant with this particular texting app. Once again, he saved my bacon. So please again convey my thanks and...
Read moreWorst possible experience!!!!!! Took my phone in for a screen repair and they told me to come in the next day at 10 am if I wanted a same day repair. So the following day I returned with my phone and they told me they would take care of it. I called at 6 pm seeing that they close at 7pm and they took about 5 minutes to realize they even had my phone. They then informed me that my phone was beyond repair even though it was functioning fine(i realize the screen breaks sometimes beyond repair). They then asked if i wanted a quote on a new phone after they didn't have my old one for some mysterious reason that they couldn't really explain. So they added an extra 40 dollars to my old phone by getting me a new one and didn't have my old sim card for me again very mysteriously. Afterwards they made me pay for a new phone cause basically i don't have one anymore then i have to take it to AT&T for a new sim. When i take it to AT&T they have no idea how in the heck I need to update this phone without a sim or a previous phone. So even after getting a new phone without expecting one the employees all react like this is commonplace. Overall take your phone anywhere but here where their workers are incompetent and not even respectful when it comes to a device that can control your life so much. If i could give negative stars i would shame on you click away and your employees. If they at least had the decency to call me and update me on what happens i wouldn't even be mad but they don't even have common decency and overall aren't competent enough to deal with people that need any kind of...
Read moreDavid's customer service skills are excellent. He patiently and kindly assisted me with a lengthy process that involved him in making several phone calls, and adjusting details of the transaction that had been started by several other employees a week prior. He is stellar and deserves a generous raise of income!
I would like to leave a second review about David in the San Ramon Verizon store, however I don't see the option to leave another review so I am adding on to my first one from a month ago. So, somehow the business account that I requested be opened did not happen despite my clear communication, quite a few hours in 3 different Verizon locations including San Ramon, Oakland, and Alameda, and the earnest attempts of all the staff that tried to assist me. I think it's important that it be known that opening a business account was quite a conundrum that did not ever actually happen. I decided to surrender and let it be and find another way to accomplish what was needed. Throughout this process and exercise in developing extraordinary patience, I would like to acknowledge the exemplary equanimity that David displayed again today. I had to commend him directly and also publicly for his calm and patient poise. He is simply unflappable and solidly grounded in a way that defies his youth. He will do great...
