I've waited a while to review this restaurant. Been there probably 5x or so.
1st time food was great, had chicken fried rice. I've had this 3x since then, and it's never been as good. My mother visited and I went to get food there, and this time none of us really liked our food much. It was pretty bland and lacked substance.
One time I went with my daughter, and when we walked in they had a crime documentary on, which was speaking about a woman who dismembered her victims and depicted her eating them with blood dripping down her chin; unable to get the remote to work, I quickly just pushed the power button on the TV. At that point it certainly lost the family-friendly vibe I'd gotten there in prior visits.
I'm probably not going to be back much anymore unless I have a craving, but at this point it has officially become "just an average Chinese place" in my opinion.
Also, I know initially I'd been given a container of sweet and sour sauce for the rangoon wontons but ever since then they've been wanting to charge an extra $0.80, but they're probably the best rangoon I've ever had, so that redeems them a bit to 3 stars for the food.
That said, they've always been friendly and made the food quickly...so...
Read moreJust ordered food from here and was shocked that this place got so many glowing reviews. It's not good. It's overly salty, overly sweet.. The wontons are poor quality and bland. The dumplings taste like ones you buy frozen from Sam's or Costco and can cook yourself. It's poor quality and very disappointing and expensive. They also charge you for fortune cookies, which were stale BTW... And charge you for chopsticks. On the window, the price for chopsticks was 20 cents, and the fortune cookies were 15 cents. I ordered 2 fortune cookies and 1 chopsticks and that totals 50 cents, but I was charged 55 cents.. They also speak with extremely thick accents and are barely intelligible. I'm not being racist here, as I've lived in Asia as an English teacher and I have experience in working with people with heavy accents.. They seem like nice people, but the food is horrible. I'm going to stick to driving 45 minutes to broken arrow and order from Happy House or just make my own Asian food at home, because all the places in Sand Springs/Cleveland are awful. If you think this place is great, you clearly have no taste buds and Gordon Ramsey would yell at you and tell you that you have a pallet like a...
Read moreTucked away in a quiet corner, this small and quaint Chinese restaurant truly surprised usâin the best way. While it seems most of their business is takeout (we were the only patrons dining in), the cozy, intimate dining space added a peaceful charm to the experience.
The food was absolutely deliciousâclearly made fresh to order, with vibrant flavors and that comforting quality only a family-run kitchen can deliver. Our meal came out quickly, but not in a rushed or âpre-madeâ way. Every dish felt intentional and well-crafted.
What really made the experience memorable, though, were the warm smiles from the staff. There was a genuine kindness in their hospitality that made us feel more like guests than customers. If you're looking for a place that puts care into both their food and service, this hidden gem is worth a visitâor at the very least, a takeout...
