I ordered donuts for my son's birthday. They were to spell out Happy Birthday KW plus an additional 9 for a total of 24 donuts and all were to be decorated in superhero themes. They were a bit pricy at $59.86 for 24 donuts, but the online pics and reviews seemed worth it. The example pictures on their Facebook page were awesome, but that was not my experience. I ordered the donuts a week in advance. I asked for them to be ready at 6:30am and was told they could not get them ready until 7am. When placing my order I agreed that would be fine as long as they were ready no later than 7 because I had to have kids at school by 7:30. When I arrived at the Livi Lees on Broadway at 6:50 I was told they weren't quite ready. I waited patiently, but by 7:10 I had still not received my order. I asked how long it would be as I had kids to get to school. That's when I was advised that they weren't at their location, and they were waiting on them to be delivered. The young woman behind the counter made a phone call and told me they were at the Prattville location, and I could drive there to get them or they could deliver them to the school. I wasn't about to disappoint my 5 year old as he was so excited to bring donuts for his birthday. I drove to the Prattville location and stood in line again. When I got to the counter the young woman told me she needed to show me the donuts to see if I was ok with them. I could tell by her tone and body language that she knew I wouldn't be, and I wasn't. Only about half of them were superhero themed. The letters spelling happy birthday looked more like Christmas decor. There were several red with white stripes looking like candy canes and green with red M&Ms looking like Christmas trees. The superhero ones were sloppy and unprofessional. They also appeared to be melted. The young woman helping me knew I wasn't happy, but said "I hope they're ok." I told her they weren't, and I was extremely disappointed with my entire experience. I told her for what they cost they should be just like the examples. She asked me to wait to see if there were any discounts or anything she could do. I told her that because they weren't ready when they were supposed to be and then I had to drive to a 2nd location to get them my kids were already late for school and I didn't have time to wait. I advised her that they had my phone number, email and the card a paid with and if they wanted to do something to try to make this right they could contact me. That was a few weeks ago, and I've never heard anything from them. I made a few photo collages the top are pictures from their Facebook I screenshotted the bottom is what I received. Judge...
Read moreI originally went across the street to super donuts to get some baked jalapeno rolls, I figure I would go here as well since online it says they open at 4am, I figure that is plenty of time to have baked and or fried sausage or jalapeno rolls ready. Unfortunately I was wrong, they did not have any sausage or jalapeno rolls ready, so I decided to at least get a cinnamon roll, as I love them, they were still loading up the donughts and I did not see any cinnamon rolls, I had to ask for one from one of the loading trays. I though since it was fresh it would be nice and warm, unfortunately that was also incorrect, it was very surprisingly cold. The inside of the shop was not well lit, and was kind of cramped I would not be comfortable eating here as I would be to close to people coming and going in and out. I would go across the street to super donuts instead. One cinnamon...
Read moreNeat idea selling little donuts with crazy toppings such cereal, bacon "jam," crumbled candy bars, etc. I've lived in Portland and Seattle so these sort of specially donuts aren't new to me. The selection here was fantastic when we came in on a Friday night. I think a dozen for $9 is steep for the quality and taste of the donut itself, so you're paying for the toppings and the novelty. Seems as though the donuts are made well in advance and/or refrigerated at some point. The dozen we ordered were placed in a box that was too small so the visual appeal of 12 colorful wonders staring you in the face is sort of lost as some were on their sides or under another donut. I would have given three stars but seeing the faces of the kids in there light up bumped it up to four. What kid...
