First time visiting and was more than pleased. Honestly have never really given much thought to the Samdusky downtown area in 40yrs of coming up this way as a seasonal boater & Cedar Point seasons pass holder. From the outside, Mr. Smith's as rather unassuming with a small cafe table and chairs outside. But, upon entering the place is much larger than one would image. There is a forward sitting area that is separate from the main area that would seem good for small groups & private parties. Lots of available seating throughout that would be conducive for plugging on a laptop for work, school or just surfing. Coffee was very good, I actually had the dark mixed with a bit of hazelnut. Prices were more than reasonable, and I believe refills on the same visit are fifty cents. Place was clean and inviting, very friendly staff and seemed to really start to get busy after church let out. All in all, very good experience and would recommend as we plan to return...

Clean and quiet local coffeehouse with a perfect downtown location. It can be busy most mornings so expect to have maybe one or two people in line in front of you. The friendly staff work to put out the orders quickly though, so there's usually a very short wait. We've tried Mayan Cocoa, Malted Mocha, and other lattes - they were all excellent! The Cappuccino is strong and bold flavored. All their coffee drinks have that bold coffee flavor without being bitter, making this my favorite coffee stop. You're definitely getting something better than hot candied milk! The prices are more than fair and everything we've tried so far has been excellent - beating the big chain coffee shops hands down! It's very comfortable inside with lots of seating options. Casual and inviting, check out the local artwork on display or the bookshelf if you're looking for something to read. I definitely recommend Mr. Smith's - it's the perfect addition to...

Hi Troy M,

I believe that one of those spoiled children may have been my daughter. I expect nothing less from a family friendly, local business than to ensure that my child has a great experience each and every time she is there as this promotes positive relationships with the locals. We are regular visitors due to the amazing customer service and delicious treats. I cannot imagine, had you mentioned that you were in a hurry, that they would have ignored your needs to be quick and efficient in completing your order.

Must trys are the banana coconut and black raspberry, both of which I can have ground fresh if not brewed as the coffee of the day. Not interested in coffee? The chai is perfect! I suggest you return for a second chance rather than placing your impatience ahead of warm and welcoming relationships.

Sincerely, Mom of...

Mr. Smith’s coffee house is a must do when you are in the Sandusky area, locals or visitors to the area will not be disappointed. They offer everything from the normal cup of black joe to all the fru fru drinks that taste like real deserts. They have a very comfortable, welcoming vibe to all who enter. They offer pastries and other small items to eat with your beverage of choice. The staff are always wonderful and helpful in any way. The seating area, bathrooms and meeting areas are always spotless. The little free library inside is just an added bonus to the eclectic display of art from area artists (which are always for sale). If you are in the area we highly recommend stopping in and checking it out, you will love it.

This has been my absolute favorite spot downtown Sandusky for years💖 Always the most wonderful staff, most delicious coffee (& coffee beans!), the BEST cocoa chillers😍, best spot to meet with a friend or a group! Such a lovely, artsy, relaxing vibe - I'm always looking forward to seeing the new artwork on the walls 🥰 So, so thankful this heavenly place & the lovely people within it exist only 10 mins away from me 🤍😇 P.S. they always remember that I need almond milk even if I forget to say it, and I really just appreciate that about them😭🤣💖
