We stopped by Maya Rosa during our first visit as part of our Sanford food crawl — where we try light bites from several spots to support more local businesses in one go. Giving it 3 stars because the ordering process was smooth, food was brought to our table, and the presentation looked appealing.
Unfortunately, the experience fell short in key areas. There was a noticeable delay — we received our tacos first, and about 10 minutes later realized our burger was just sitting off to the side. When it was finally brought to us, the staff member casually mentioned, “Oh, I wondered why there was just a single burger here.” 🙃
We tried the ground beef and chicken tacos, but both lacked flavor. The beef was completely unseasoned, and the pickled cabbage and jalapeños tasted like very basic pickling. The chicken wasn’t much better — so bland it reminded us of the plain, broiled chicken we make for our dog. Sadly, that’s where it ended up.
The smash burger looked good — gooey cheese and decent bun — but again, no seasoning and no crispy edges. We didn’t finish it because it just wasn’t worth the calories. On the plus side, prices were reasonable.
Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen, but as a first-time experience, it was a major letdown. We’re open to trying again in the future, but it’ll be a while...
Read moreBest smashburgers in Sanford, hands down. Dam good burger with crispy edges, toasted bun, cheesy melty goodness, and delicious caramelized onions to seal the deal. Have had them many times and never disappointed. They added special items for their July 4th menu and we got the bread pudding and im not surprised that everything they do is great. I recommend them all day every day for a good burger +the the extras they serve. When in down town sanford looking for good food, quick service, and a great price with the quality you'll not regret, head behind wild wild west end...

Lunch burger was about $9.50, for me it was more like a $6-$7 burger. Not saying o wouldn’t give it another try but I think for $10 I’ll look at other lunch options in...
