We were visiting the area and in walking around noticed we passed one of the only Caribbean spots in town, after walking a bit more, honestly wanted to show love to our Caribbean ppl. When we got there one young brother was putting tables up (the tables sitting outside) so I asked were they open he said yeah (pleasant young man). Well when we got in the other young dark brother with the dreads was reluctant to serve us. Initially my wife wanted the fish he basically said it would be 30-40 mins, so we were hungry, I got the curry goat, she got the curry chicken, and a small red pea soup and two house made juices. I know I mentioned the food was for āhereā and it was still brought out in a to-go container all bagged up.. no harm no foul, we took our food out and ate there (itās our anniversary so we thought a lil dinner would be good to end the night). That young man had the WORST disposition, when all they had to do was tell us they were closing at 9, (Apple said 11pm). This kid was so impatient, even while standing at the table prepping to leave waiting for my wife to use the restroom, this kid began to vacuum around me, literally thereās 1 right so it wasnāt pressing, but to have a vacuum plugged in and ran, cord literally on my feet, is kinda frustrating as a patron of a biz. Honestly I was reluctant to go there, and it was because I thought this type of experience would be had, & unfortunately I was correct. Chef and the other young man were pleasant, but Iām all set, spending $60+ at any establishment should come...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family was on vacation in Sanford. My husband being from Jamaica wanted to find some authentic food. We stumbled across this place. The food was delicious, however the customer service from the woman in the front was terrible. My husband was asking the KIND gentleman working up front about the menu. A few items were sold out when we placed our order so we knew the food would be good. He asked a few questions about the menu, one being if the Ackee and salt fish was cooked daily because where we live, Ackee and saltfish is only made on Saturdays and Sundays. The woman gave him quite an attitude saying āwhat kind of question is that?ā And that we shouldnāt be asking that because the question was invalid and wasnāt a smart question etc. she then accused us of saying that they donāt cook fresh food. my husband explained to her that he was just asking about the menu and how it worked here because again we are from out of town. She went back and forth with my husband for a bit. But the gentleman at the front was quite professional and helped us out quickly. Had the food not been as good as it was, Iād given this place a nastier review. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that doesnāt give right to treat people that way for asking simple questions about THEIR...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to this restaurant for over 5 years, never had such a horrible experience as I did last Saturday. While I was on my way to Sanford to buy food, I called the restaurant and the girl at the register hung up on me. When I got there I said to her, this has been my go to restaurant for years and for you to hang up on me like that I donāt appreciate that. A gentleman working at the register too came around to be nasty with me, so I told him Iām not buying anything Iām leaving, he said yes please leave, my friend and I walked out, the guy left from behind the counter to follow us outside. I called back to ask if I could speak to the owner and I was threatened on the phone. The guy told me that if I called the police he would show me something and I should ask the owner who he is. Iāve been driving 45 minutes to this restaurant all the time. Told multiple people about this spot, Iāve never been treated like that in all the years Iāve been going there. I can tell you that youāve lost a very loyal customer. And for any other guests who has experienced anything similar to this, thereās a great Jamaica spot right up the street from them. The people were welcoming and the...
