Great food, large portions, positive energy Their corn elote whether on the cob cut in half or in the bowl is one of our favorites. They have perfected it, even my non-vegan friends say it’s their favorite. The cream Topping is soooo good. If you are lactose intolerant, you are in for a treat here. The cheeses are so good, so are the sour cream like creations. The chef is making these himself so they are clean and fresh.
The tacos are huge. They come with flour, but I’ve also had them with corn. Tortillas the potato chorizo is fantastic as is the Al Pastore with the pineapple. We moved the sopes too
My Spanish friends that the churros were great and I love the hostess cupcake.
It’s not too hard to find parking along Halle or around the corner
They are busy so we’d like to come in earlier for dinner. They are opening up for lunch now and of course they’ve got the weekend brunch. I everybody has a great attitude. I can tell they are stretched a little bit at times but that just tells you how good the food is. Given how large the plate sizes, we feel it’s a good value especially because you’re eating so clean.
If you’re sitting here at the speaker, don’t be shy to ask him to turn it down. Gosh, if that’s the only thing I can think of as a suggestion, you know this place is fantastic.
We’ve seen them journey from being takeout only at a window a couple days a week on state street to their shared space and now to their full restaurant. I kind of like it that there are no alcohol options. Yet.
We are so lucky to have this high-quality food here and it’s extra special that it is plant-based. Absolutely no animal byproduct. And There are plenty of yummy...
Read moreThis is one of the only vegan restaurants left in the area which is unfortunate because there used to multiple in SB. I've visited this restaurant several times before, and the food is usually decent. I got there before 7pm on a weekend and it wasn’t busy, I ordered right away. The wait staff seemed to be confused and all of them were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, never checking in on me, I had to wave them down each time. I had to ask for my drinks twice before they were brought out. My appetizer came out first and I began eating. It took over an hour for me to get my other two items. I asked the servers several times and was told “the kitchen is just busy.” People who came after me received their food before me (the same item I had ordered by the way). It was really frustrating. My food eventually came out but at that point it had been so long I wasn’t so hungry anymore. The chicken on my burrito bowl was also heavily seared, hard and inedible. We sent it back but got the same hard chicken the second time. I did talk to the staff and the blonde server was helpful but the whole experience was awful. They ended up comping some of my food, but not much. And they couldn’t figure out how to refund me. They stared at their credit card machine for a while trying to figure it out. The restaurant needs better management and staff that are competent. You shouldn’t have to wait over an hour and a half to get your food. And unfortunately there never seems to be good service here, but this was by far the worst. I’m very...

I originally gave 5 stars, but have changed my mind following our most recent visit. This was the 3rd or 4th time we have ordered tortas from Rascal's as they are usually very good. This last time, though, they were so extremely salty, and my husband who is a bit sensitive to salt started to feel unwell almost immediately. Tasting the tempeh by itself, we found that was the culprit. Marinated too long maybe, idk. That's not the reason for the negative review. It's the response of the owner that warranted this edit. First of all, he and his girlfriend (?) were kissing at the register which I found a bit odd. But when I went up and mentioned that the tortas were really salty, they looked at me like I'd asked them to move because they were blocking my locker in high school. It was pretty clear that he can't take criticism well and I did not get a great vibe based on the blank stares. It feels odd because the owner has become somewhat a minor celebrity on the SB vegan scene and this encounter really broke that facade. Anyways, it pains me to have to write this because of how few affordable vegan restaurants there are here and how much I would like them to succeed, but if that's what I get for mentioning the hypertension sandwich I guess it's no more from me. Best of...
