I want to start by giving a huge shoutout to Leidy, the server who made everything even better, if that was even possible.
The boutique hotel in which the restaurant is located, is a jewel. One of the most beautiful in Santa Fe. They really paid attention to details, and restaurant Amaya is not far behind.
Everything, with the exception of one of the two elk medallions on my plate, was exceptional. One of the medallions was a little overcooked and tough, the other one was fantastic. My wife and I both enjoyed the Hacienda Mojito, which is a great deal coming from two Miami long time residents.
I strongly recommend the Chimayo Soup. The chile used in the soup is mild and has a surprisingly nutty flavor profile at the end. The queso fresco on top added a salty finish and stringy grand finale. DELICIOUS!!!
The sesame crusted Salmon was well executed and came on a bed of risotto, which I thought was phenomenal. We also ordered the Cobb Salad. Props to them, as the salad was super fresh (no wilted vegetables) and the light and fruity dressing complemented it perfectly.
My wife only orders Creme Brûlée for dessert, and while I hardly ever even try it, as I find it boring, this one was the exception. It wasn’t too sweet and had a nice creamy consistency expected of custards or natillas. They definitely know their desserts; however, my type of dessert comes in liquid form and it’s called Porto. Their Fonseca Porto 20 years really hit the spot and put an exclamation point on a great meal. I strongly recommend...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining with my girlfriends at Amaya, and we opted for the Teepee Experience. It was nothing short of phenomenal. The ambiance within the teepee was unique and enchanting, providing an intimate and memorable setting for our dinner.
We were served by Surya, who was incredibly nice and friendly. She provided us with a fantastic rundown of the menu, helping us make the best choices for our meal. Her attentiveness and warm demeanor added to the overall wonderful experience.
For my meal, I started with the tortilla soup, which was flavorful and comforting. The highlight, however, was the lamb chops. They were the best lamb chops I’ve had in a very long time—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. To finish off, I had the crème brûlée, which was a delightful end to an excellent meal.
Overall, our dinner at Amaya was exceptional, from the unique Teepee Experience to the outstanding food and service. Surya's excellent service and the delicious dishes made it a night to remember. I highly recommend Amaya for anyone looking for a unique and high-quality...
Read moreEvery year before Christmas we drive to visit our favorite Santa Fe restaurants to get in the spirit. This year - 2019 - we went to four restaurants for lunch. Amaya was the clear winner. Others were pretty and the food was fine, but today's experience at Amaya was memorable and here's why. We got a parking place right outside (and didn't have to pay parking plus valet). The decor was stunning and we were greeted with a beautiful roaring fire. The waiter, Mario, almost whispered to me, "We have butternut squash soup!" I took his advice and ordered a cup with half the club sand. Companion had ribs and fries. The way things were plated was a work of art. Meal was delicious. The $50 (including tip) lunch was a great investment. We will remember how we shared this lovely lunch for years. And we will be putting Amaya on our regular rotation. Thanks, everyone, seen and behind the scenes, for making such quality your priority! Merry...
