Update on the review, I went to the restaurant this afternoon to have lunch and it was very satisfying. The service was fast and the food was great! The restaurant provided the outdoor seatings as well as indoor dining with social distancing tables. Servers had their masks on all the time.
Food (5/5): * Atmosphere (5/5): *
I have been a frequent customer at this restaurant for a few years now since they were at the previous location. I have also been recommending my friends and have taken many friends to eat here. The food has always been extraordinarily delicious. I mean I must have tried almost the whole menus and everything was tasty and fresh. The baked items in the glass cases are also delicious. They are not too sweet and present to the palate.
I ordered a cup of onion soup and ham and cheese crêpe and as always it was great. The texture of the crêpe was soft and buttery. The amount of ham and cheese in the crêpe was a lot. I highly recommend the crêpe. The onion soup was very rich. Unless I wanted the soup to be my main course, I usually ordered a cup. The onions were melted in the soup. I could eat these two dishes once a week for sure.
Today's service was another story. I was visiting the men's room when the exciting action happened. I came back to the table and I was told that the server spilled a bowl of coffee at the table and on my friend's clothes. I was also told that the server didn't apologize for the spill and just brought a handful of napkins and left the table. My coffee order was also wrong but it was quickly corrected. Then the food came. Another server brought the food and dropped a strip of bacon on another friend's lap! I was so embarrassed because I brought them here. I wish the owner would provide some more trainings to the...
Read moreCame up in my research for my trip and I'm so glad we were able to make it. We stopped here for breakfast on our last day before we headed back home. The atmosphere was definitely bustling, even for a Wednesday morning. We passed the pastry case on the way to the table and I was very tempted to get something on the way out, but didn't. Prices were very reasonable for the quality, which makes it a place I think we would frequent if we lived here.
I ordered the coconut french toast along with a large orange juice and both were excellent! The OJ was fresh squeezed and so good, a perfect start to the morning. The french toast was phenomenal. Moist, lightly caramelized in spots, and topped with seasonal fruit and a generous sprinkle of coconut flakes. I devoured it and loved every bite. I love french toast but I'm usually hesitant to order it because it can turn out too dry or too thick, but this was exactly right.
Our server was quick and efficient, and we didn't wait long for our food despite how busy it was. The only drawback for me was the design of the two person tables. The legs were so close together that it was tricky to sit comfortably without bumping into them. Not a dealbreaker, but something I noticed that made it sort of uncomfortable if you're in a slightly bigger body or like to sit closer to the table. Otherwise, the space was very cute. You know it's French style because it's the only place we had been to in town that didn't have a ristra hanging somewhere lol I thought this place was excellent and would love to come...
Read moreI’ve worked in the service industry for 20+ years and in my opinion I find dining out to rarely be an amazing experience & Clafoutis was no exception. This was my 3rd time in 5 yrs having breakfast there. We came in at the request of my partner’s daughter to celebrate her bday.. Although the atmosphere appears cool, the acoustics in the room we were sat in was so loud from the kitchen, the clatter & chatter, we practically had to shout to have a conversation. We ended up requesting to move to a table outside instead. They were gracious enough to move us right away which we were pleased & grateful for.. We ordered the Provencia omelette and found it to be completely overrated. Horrible presentation, the garnish was weird, and I could barely finish it, feeling even a bit nauseas afterwards. My partner did not finish his.. Our server was great, very friendly with a great smile, but we were disappointed our plates were never cleared and continued to sit in front of us even long after we paid the bill. We ended up leaving in a hurry due to the banging & loud clatter the bus girl was making as she cleared the table next to us, unconscious of how much noise she was making. Maybe I’m old fashioned but it is my understanding that people are paying to dine out for an overall great experience when it comes to food, atmosphere & service. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. I may try Clafoutis again as the lunch menu looked more appealing than the breakfast and I like outdoor atmosphere & patio but I’ll consider bringing ear plugs...
