McConnell's Fine Ice Creams - Third Street Promenade — Restaurant in Santa Monica

I am weirdly excited to be the first to write a review for the new McConnell’s location in Santa Monica.

My favorite ice cream since moving to southern CA, and the closest location since moving to the west side… of course I had to run in on opening day to get a free scoop.

Not only was the ice cream fantastic as always (today I went with churros con leche and sea salt cream & cookies), but the employees were kind and the ownership group excitedly greeted patrons in line.

Yes, we have many great ice cream options in southern California with Salt & Straw, Jeni’s, Ginger’s, Van Leeuwen’s, etc., but this ice cream aficionado takes McConnell’s over all of them, and TIME Magazine calls them the best ice cream in the world.

Am I a little bit salty that they didn’t have my two favorite flavors today (honey & cornbread cookies and double peanut butter chip)? Sure.

But will I be back? Definitely, soon, and often. Do yourself a favor and...

I commend you on the excellent quality of your ice cream, however, I am concerned about the unauthorized gratuity added to my emailed receipt. This unexpected charge has diminished my confidence in your establishment, and I am unsure if I will return. Additional staff training is necessary to prevent future occurrences, although I have some doubts about its efficacy. Attributing it to "human error" seems inadequate; I suspect a more intentional action was taken, considering my familiarity with your system and the fact that digital mobile purchases usually generate a receipt unless manually adjusted by someone. Pistachio ice cream was wonderful, highly recommend it has biscotti in it

Their prepacked pints are colder therefore taste best super chilled like that

They need a large see through tip jar installed, there was no where to actually tip properly! I was surprised because they were working quickly and determind to help guests get their treats
