This is a truly authentic Oaxacan Cafe. I am blown away by the flavor and freshness of all the ingredients. Anything you order you will be extremely happy with. The scramble was perfect and the tortilla it came with was perfect to soak up all the flavor. They didn’t miss on anything including the potatoes. We also ordered a fresh smoothie with no frozen ingredients. The price was under $10 which is a bargain for a smoothie these days. My friend ordered the mole burrito which had such strong flavor. I would recommend added avocado to it as it is extremely rich and delicious. I would not hesitate to order here. The staff is great and welcoming. The food is made fresh to order and you can taste the love and passion in the food. If I had a Oaxacan grandmother I would expect her food to taste like this.

My friends took me here right after I landed on my first day visiting town. I could not stop thinking about their Chilaquiles so I had to come back before flying out! On my second visit I tried the Oaxacan chocolate. I usually stay away from seemingly sugary drinks but I was intrigued, and it did not disappoint. It was not unnecessarily sweet at all - the chocolate was rich and complex in a way that was not overwhelming, the milk and chocolate was perfectly balanced, and I felt like an adult enjoying a drink without anticipating a sugar rush-crash 🤪 The best part of visiting Yagul Cafe is the people: they are so warm and welcoming and I really believe that makes the food so much more delightful than it already is!

Last day in Santa Monica and decided to try this place for breakfast before I head downtown to my conference. So glad I did as I was not disappointed. The coffee was delicious. I’m trying to pin down the flavor and I can’t but it’s the best coffee I’ve had in a while. For food I decided to go with Eliseo’s Scramble which is chicken sausage, mozzarella, caramelized onions, avocado, pico de gallo and was served with potatoes & whole wheat tortilla. It was so good and I scarfed it down after wrapping everything in my burrito which was plenty large enough to do so. Perfectly heated and warmed so rolling was easy. Love this place!
