We ate here three times, not because we liked it, but because of the convenience. The service both nights was great. it was such a shame that the food was such a disaster. First night, we had the Pork Ribeye, and now that was actually pretty good. And by far the best dinner we had. The pork was well seasoned and tasted fresh and delicious. We also had the Involtino Di Pollo. Now, that was a disaster. It's supposed to be stuffed chicken breast, says so on their menu. But..... it was actually a leg and thigh quarter that someone had attempted to stuff and then overcooked, so all that it was stuffed with was cooked out of it. That was stringy and gross. The only lucky thing for the restaurant is that my wife got that, and she will never complain.
Now, the next night, we both ordered the center cut filet mignon. Medium rare. We also ordered the Mediterranean Dip Sampler. Now that was awesome. Delicious dips. However, our steaks arrived. Mine was cooked medium. And my wife's was well done, well beyond well done. Tasted of charcoal. We were comped a breakfast. Well, that too doesn't live up to expectations. We kept being told to have the smoked salmon. There was no smoked salmon. Don't prop up an item you don't even have. Everything else was moderately ok. This restaurant touted itself as being a more upscale restaurant with upscale food and service. The service was excellent. But the food was way overpriced and lacked the quality one expect.
Almost forgot. Instant potatoes, really? So disappointing.
Wanted to update this. I had an experience that might explain the potatoes tasting like they were instant. They may not have been instant, I had potatoes that had been sitting out a while, and when reheated, they tasted like instant potatoes. So either the potatoes were instant or old. Just wanted...
Read moreI was thoroughly impressed with my meal at Salt. My husband and I have been enjoying trying out restaurants with raving reviews around our hometown. Last night we decided to try out Salt. I made reservations online, and when we got to the location, we realized that this was located in a hotel- the Hilton. Reservations definitely were not necessary on a Monday night, as there was ample seating. Our server was excellent and made excellent recommendations. For our appetizer we ordered the crazy feta and the tzatziki with pita. The crazy feta was so insanely wonderful, I could have that just that for my meal. I ordered the chicken shawarma and my husband ordered the crab cakes. The chicken was roasted perfectly and had the best char on it. The mediterranean rice paired exceptionally well with it as well! My husband got the crab cakes that were almost entirely crab- he was very pleased with his dish! Only thing disappointing was that there was no dessert menu- just two different mousse options they had. Honestly, after that meal, we had no room for dessert anyways. We will definitely be back! If you're local- make sure you ask for the...
Read moreThis restaurant is located inside a hotel—not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. We came here for Valentine’s Day, and it had a cute setup. They placed a rose on the table, which I moved to the side knowing it would just be in the way once the appetizers arrived. This somehow turned into a game with our waitress, who kept moving it back to the center. Not sure why, but what would I know—I’m just a “desk jockey,” according to her. (Her words, not mine.)
The charcuterie board was a standard DIY setup—nothing special, just the usual cheeses and jarred jam. Still enjoyable despite its mediocrity. My husband ordered his steak medium but got it rare. It was still good, but if you’re going to cook it however you want, why ask in the first place? The fish (grouper, the catch of the day) was overcooked and completely lacking seasoning—ironic for a place named after a seasoning.
Service was about what you’d expect on Valentine’s Day—rushed and a bit chaotic. When I mentioned the fish being overcooked, the waitress just said, “Oh, that sucks,” and moved on. For an almost $300 meal, I expected more....
