I am a local and come here a lot with my kids. Or I used to.... Lately the food has Been subpar. Menu changed and not as many options. Portions are a lot smaller and food is not same quality as it was in back in April/May before menu changed. The Past 2 times I have been the bar staff and hotel management have been rude. Kids are supposed to eat free but I was told all of a sudden they do not honor that unless you stay at The holiday inn hotel even when they advertise on their website that if you eat at the restaurant kids eat free. We were hotel guest at Best western next door. We stay there all the time. I am a platinum member there. Since I am local I know the hotels are owned by the same people. They even built a walkway between be 2 properties. I was told by the holiday inn Manager on duty on 6/23 (short white girl with brown hair) that we were allowed to use the amenities but we did not get discount for kids eating free. When I explained that I have visited this same place over a dozen times since April and they always ate free, she curtly said “it was being cracked down on” . when I asked why it was advertised on the website that kids eat free , she said she didn’t know why website was not updated. I also was yelled at and chased by by the same front desk manager that I needed an armband to go to pool deck which I showed her in my bag. She screamed that I needed to be wearing it. I put it on even though I have been told before I could just put it on my beach bag as it comes off easily in the water. She was So unprofessional and the absolute worst person I have encountered there. All the while at least half the people at the pool area didn’t have arm bands on either! Obviously this hotel doesn’t want local business or recommendations to visitors...
Read moreService was fine, food was average, but I left feeling cheated. My bill consisted of a $12 burger, a $1 charge for bacon and a $1 charge for fried egg. My subtotal was $18, plus tax and some other charge that was not authorized, ending up in $19.53. How did my $12+$1+$1 end up being $18? A restaurant’s itemized check should point out every monetary value added. Additionally, a server should make sure the customer is aware at some level that they are UPGRADING or ADDING to their meal something that will cost more. Before going to eat, I had looked at the menu online and found the ($13) “early dawn” burger or some other name (it turns out they did not have it anymore), and so I asked if the could do the same makeup for the burger, and they said yes, not implying it would cost more. I feel it’s essential for the customer to know this. I ended up not having enough money to pay including tip, so a friend had to cover for me. I will not be coming back, due to the fact that I feel this restaurant just wants my money, and does not value my...
Read moreWe stayed at the Holiday Inn and ate here 3 times. 2 dinner, 1 lunch. The first night we had great service. We also had the nachos as an app (which were very good, the chicken is better than the beef.) and I got the brisket tacos. They came out wrong the first time, sent it back and came out perfect the second. They were delicious. Could be a bigger portion but still tasty. My fiancé got the patty melt and he said it was amazing. The other two visits, the service was poor. We got the wings, a few different flavors (the best was the honey bbq). Kids eat free with purchase of adult entrees which is nice. However the kids mac n cheese wasn’t good. But the fries were. The last night, our server tried to over charge us on our meal. We ordered 20 wings and she charged us $24 when they have a deal for 20 wings for $18. Not a huge deal but it’s crappy that she tried to over charge us. The manager did correct it so we got the $18 price. We would return but with low expectations for service and a watchful eye...
