Where do I start? Only 1 star because the pizza place on top looked alright. My friend and I are newly 21 looking for a place to play pool and have some nice drinks. The place looked classy online so we decided to try it out. First walking in creepy white guy says “Oh u look too young to be in a bar” lol okay? Mind your business much? Secondly bartender took over 3 minutes to even address us because she was chopping it up with the men in the bar. Third we asked about the pool tables she told us they were coin tables so we said okay and this even creeepier guy got soo close to my friend out of nowhere and asked us if we wanted to play pool. My friend said no we only have 2 people. He said “2 on 2?” I said “nah we’re good” then we asked the bartender for a tequila sunrise and a cosmopolitan, she makes the tequila sunrise quickly then moves to the cosmopolitan and broke the glass while making it. Proceeded to yell “AHHHH” then switched to a sweet but condescending and says “let me just remake that for you” At this point the music is just bad vibes the energy is just so dark and depressing felt like we were suffocating. So we decided to just get up and leave because we were so uncomfortable. As we’re getting up to leave the bartender yells “WHERE U GOING” and has a crazy look on her face. We told her we were going to use the restroom and left. Went to Applebees and are enjoying the vibes and drinks so much more. I pray for the people...
Read moreI usually avoid going here... Mostly because they don't have beers on tap. But also their liquor selection is not that extensive, the well is pretty lackluster. On top of that, the atmosphere tends to be kinda funky. It's one of the few places where I always seem to run into amateurs... immature ragey young dudes who want to act all aggressive for no apparent reason... Sauced meatheads and overdone chicks, clicquey groups... Not usually a real friendly atmosphere to meet and interact with strangers, which I don't get, because usually people are pretty chill in Santa Rosa. It does have pool tables but they are kinda crammed in and you don't have enough room to really play a decent game without cross traffic. But you know, if the sorta gritty bar scene is your thing, maybe you'd like it. I don't fault the establishment for the crowd, they seem to try to keep the place classy, and the bartenders are always good enough to keep the line moving. The "bel" / "belvy" has just always had this kind of rep- I'm not gonna call it a dive, it's not that exactly... But it can't entirely escape that vibe. Just not my favorite place in the area to get a beverage, but I have found myself here, more than a few times and just keep my head down; which seems to...
Read moreThis is my favorite Bar! The owners and staff work very hard to make the environment friendly and accepting. They have a pretty large area outside which is enclosed and typically has heaters running to make the patio comfortable and fun for everyone. The Bartenders are friendly and pour great drinks. Security is friendly and helpful. And here's the great thing...... want some barfood? JOEYS PIZZA IS RIGHT UPSTAIRS! they are always walking around the bar and serving DELICIOUS pizza and wings! They are such a friendly addition to the staff at "the Bel"! Stop by, play some pool, and have a drink, you just might...
