We were just a couple of fishermen searching for a place to eat in Santaquin Utah. Construction on the main drag in Santaquin had slowed to a stop. I looked to the left and what did my wandering eyes perceive? You got it, Aroma Cafe. There were a few cars in the parking lot so we decided to give it a try. Parking was easy and we were placed in a booth with a marvelous view of the Parking Lot. We studied the menu and made our choices then ... waited a few minutes for a waitress to disengage from a conversation behind the counter. When asked if we wanted a refill of our drinks we informed the waitress that we were ready to order. Another waitress rushed back to apologize and get our orders. I went for the Philly steak and cheese with onion rings. My pal ordered the pancakes eggs, bacon and country hash browns. Our anticipation had a few minutes to cool off while the cook masterfully created our order. We updated each other on the news from Google. Alas, the food arrived. Mine came on a square plate and my pal's came on a round one. Just one look at the creation and all sins were forgiven. Oh my word! This was a Philly steak sandwich like I have never seem or tasted before. The onion rings, oh my, the onion rings were truly amazing. They had been hand dipped and deep fried only moments before presentation. I gobbled one up as soon as the plate was on the table. I was wanting to verify that they were plump, juicy and perfectly fried to a golden brown. I was thinking that there could never be onion rings better than this anywhere in the continental United States, if not the world. I should have just ordered the onion rings, I was thinking to myself. There was one of those nasty hot chilies on a long toothpick suspended above the Philly cheese steak. After flinging it aside I went for the prize. Then, oh then I picked up the sandwich and took a bite. I thought I must have died and went to heaven. No, the truck was still in the parking lot. Suffice it to say that not a crumb was left on my plate and I employed several napkins to maintain my chin free of salacious cheese from slithering down my chin.
I think you get it. I loved the food. The service was pretty good and thankfully my pal picked up the tab. He also mentioned that the potatoes were a bit greasy, but everything else was wonderful.
I will be back with my sweet wife to share this indulgence once again. Next time I will bring my bib.
Oh, just in case you were wondering... we both caught our limits...
Read moreOh man I hate to write this. 4 visits in 1.5 years. I have tried to be patient because I like local. I like to drive 7 minutes from my house and get breakfast. I am a LOCAL. I have lived here my entire life so take what I say as being gracious. Each visit I particularly watch how the kitchen runs. Today is no different than my previous visits that I have intentionally not reviewed because I wanted to give them a chance I see our food come up in the window for 10 full minutes yes I timed it. Again I want to be thoughtful and fair. Our food sits to the right side of the lights. Every single waitress literally walks by our food and a full I mean full window of food. I watch the chef get so frustrated because nobody will run food and the window is full so they cannot make anymore food. This has happened literally every time I have come. First visit just getting the kinks out. Second and Third benefit of the doubt. Fourth visit I sent my very cold food back and asked for it to be remade. Sat today for another 10 minutes and watched the kitchen staff refuse to make my food as my now worried waitress sat in the window. This was ridiculous. Man I want to love this place and write a nice review but just can’t when after 1.5 years waiting for it to get better after each visit. Some suggestions hire a bus and food runner. It’s not hard. The weekends are slammed. Teach team work and not just everyone waiting for someone else. Per the waitress they forgot our omelet and would not let her take the food out. That’s kitchens issue bring out warm food. When you have something returned rush it back to the customer. Don’t fight with your waitstaff and just not make it. Also where is the manager. Nobody has ever come to our table to check on us or to direct staff. So I’ll go back because it’s the only place in town please get better and do better we as locals like you and want...
Read moreThe two best things here are the staff and the atmosphere. A huge improvement from the past restaurant that used to be here. Staff is attentive, efficient, and very friendly. I don't know how they found such friendly people, it seems like they're almost a lost breed, especially in restaurants these days.
The atmosphere is fresh and clean, feels chic, but not over the top. They keep it very clean too.
The food is really yummy. Both times I've come I've enjoyed my meals for the most part. My chilaquiles we're a bit surprising though. Growing up Mexican I know them well, and they're very filling because they're made with lots of corn tortillas, but these were just tortilla chips, and not as many as I would have liked. Still, it was really delicious and since I'd ordered a side I was filled enough. My husband liked his burger with the Japanese specialty meat. He said it was good, but said it wasn't exactly worth the extra. Overall though, still a great experience. I ordered a side salad one day and was surprised that it wasn't very small. That was a nice bonus. It comes with romaine, tomatoes, onions, and croutons, plus dressing. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've EVER had. And they don't skimp, it's also a really good sized portion. The kids meals are very decently priced so it makes it easier to come to brunch with kids. My kids have like everything on the kids menu. The crepes are very yummy. Overall, we really like it and...
