A treasure hidden in plain view. The Coffee Carrousel is located conveniently on Main Street, but it's easy to pass by. This is the home away from home for locals and a takeout favorite for business people. I love this little retro restaurant. After a few visits, I was invited to join a group of regulars. They have since become close friends. At the Carrousel, that happens often. Monday through Friday you'll find home cooked food at friendly prices. A rarity in Sarasota. And there's always a comfy place for you at the long counter or at tables seating from two to twelve. An ample breakfast and lunch special is offered daily. You'll find traditional favorites for each holiday with decorations to match. The Carrousel has been family owned and operated for over 30 years. When their mother, Nancy, retired, Julie and Amy took charge. They serve food as well as oversee the menu and all food preparation. The cook, Denise, handles orders quickly and efficiently. This is the place for homemade comfort food without the mess. There are many days when we all need the TLC.

I love CC! it’s a cute stoic hole in the wall diner located on Main St! The ladies are always really friendly and the service is quick. I personally love the biscuits and gravy, knowing they are handmade from scratch daily. Today there’s blueberry lemon muffins; the diner bustles with chitter chatter and the sounds of the cute chefs clinking and clanking preparing our breakfast!

This is my go to on Saturday mornings. An 80s unpretentious, working class vibe. Great, simple plates with generous portions. The prices are amazing and the service is attentive and good. Every time I’m here I hum the “cheers” theme song in my head. “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows you name”

That sat us at 11:23am, without a fuss even though they close at 11:30am, which was respectable. They do close at 11:30 strictly though. This is a Basic and Simple Diner Breakfast. The best part is how fast and how cheap the food is. Don’t expect anything beyond that and you won’t be disappoint.

The staff are sensible and professional. Just don’t expect them to be your best friend. They are working hard and they are on their feet. This is a reliable local breakfast place. It has work-class charm and an unpretentious comfort to the vibe.

They had no avocado as a side option , but they did offer poached eggs, which is a nice healthy bonus. I’m grateful for the poached eggs.

Took a risk and tried the corn beef hash as a side. Nice modest portion and it was tasty. Mixed it in with my two poached eggs and enjoyed it with a lovely tasty side salad that was not over-Dressed. The lettuce they used was quality which I appreciate it. They don’t use Romain or iceberg lettuce for their salads. I’m so pleased about this.

There’s definitely way to a healthy clean eating meal there. They didn’t have fresh salsa, but they did have bottled Cholula hot sauce.

Great place to grab an analog newspaper before you go and sit by yourself and eat breakfast. Or do some reading. It felt like a real East...

We were staying in Sarasota for only a few days and needed to meet a friend for a quick breakfast and coffee before sightseeing. We're vegan and always looking to make our meals plant-based, even at non-vegan restaurants. Our friendly server was very helpful, got every request right and even tried to help us save some money. The prices are very reasonable anyway. I love the great original retro tables and fixtures - and the food...
