PLEASE READ! I attended an estate sale 8-27-2021 that was being operated by antiques & Chatchkes. I found an item I really liked, looked it over thoroughly and even spent time looking it up on my phone. At that point, I over heard a worker asking a couple sitting down if they were sure they did not want that item. I decided to purchase item and was walking toward their cash register and that same worker came up to me, removed item from my hands and placed a sold sticker on it. He stated that those people had that item saved. (Yes the same ones he was talking too) What a shady company this is. Their own rules say to keep item with you or remove tag. Neither was done. Also I heard the worker asking them are they sure they don’t want the item.( at that time I was unaware he was talking to them about item I was looking at). I believe (Ken) owner/another worker there approached me and asked what was happening. I told him exactly what happened. Ken said he would go talk to that couple and see if I could have the item, which they said no. Ken, you should have went and got item and gave it to me, this would have made it right. How do you think by asking them was a correct option after what the worker/your worker did to me? I decided to leave and I was approached by another customer outside that told me he saw those people put that item down and said the lady stated she did not want it. For the life of me I can’t understand anybody hiring this company, or any other company to run an estate sale that has a store front of their own. If you hire a company to run an estate sale for you their only interest should be “your estate sale” and not the antiques, jewelry, sterling etc in their own store front. There really should be a disclaimer about that. By the way you only got one star because it wouldn’t let me give...
Read moreMy parents both passed away recently. We discussed how to best dispose of our parents massive collection of antiques, furniture, art work, collectibles, and even jewelry. We hired "Antiques & Chatchkes" to hold a 4 day 'Estate Sale'. We were thoroughly pleased with both the results & their professionalism. Not only are Ken Davidson and his staff: Johnny, Eileen, Brenda, Hector, & Nolasko verify experienced and organized, they were also friendly, accommodating, and most of all wonderful people with whom to work. The results of the 4 day Auction were good, especially considering an unwanted guest, Hurricane Ian, visited only 2-3 days after the sale. i, we, would highly recommend you visit 'Antiques and Chatchkes' and of course hiring them for an Estate Sale if needed. Read moreWhere to start...We contracted with Ken back in late August for an Estate Sale at our Siesta Key house for mid-October. Well, Hurricanes Helene and Milton had other plans! Even though Ken himself had to deal with damage to his own property, he and his staff did a fantastic job of moving most everything (furniture, paintings, rugs, china, collectibles, etc) to another location for the sale to be held in November. The sale itself was exemplary, with nearly everything purchased! Only a smattering of "chatchkes" were left behind, donated to the Salvation Army! All in all, a very good outcome, despite the hurricanes! The only thing I would suggest would be a printed list of all the sold items and their price; would be interesting to see the trends of what items are in demand or...
