We had our rehearsal dinner at D'Corato and it was perfection. The food was AMAZING! Everyone raved about how great it was from start to finish. The antipasto for an appetizer was a HUGE highlight and for the main course, it was hard to choose. My dad said it was the best eggplant he has ever had. The lasagna was an absolute favorite. The servers were WONDERFUL! They were constantly coming around filling up wine glasses and were so friendly and attentive. The family owned restaurant went out of their way to make this such a special event for us. The mother made the most beautiful cake with tiramisu and limoncello (at my request because couldn't choose). It looked like a small wedding cake, the way she decorated it and was so delicious. They even went out of their way to put decorations on the tables and make us a special menu with our names. I really cant say enough good things about them, you just have to go for yourself. You won't be disappointed with the food or the service. We are huge Italian food lovers and D'Corato is the best. THANK YOU so much for making such a special night for us!

Truly authentic from the food to the family. D'corato puts thought into every detail and makes you feel like family. The newly updated decor brings a refreshing ambiance! They have amazing wine selections of authentic Italian imports. Made to order food with relaxed non rushed service. Coming here is a real culinary experience, allowing you to sip your wine take your time and enjoy food and conversations.Hard to find a true family owned resturant around Sarasota that isn't focused on rushing you through your dinner to get the next guests in the door. Go hungry as you will want to try it all! Large entree portions. The young talented chef knows how to keep the family recipes going with a modern twist.Bruschetta is like no other! I'm not sure what herb is used that makes it so unique but it is bursting with flavor. Seafood is sautéed and soft, veal tender and amazing desserts made fresh by Nonna. The birthday dinner they catered was just as outstanding as dining in and we can't wait to dine outside on cooler nights, and come to the wine tasting. See you again very soon!

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Don't let the location fool you, this hidden gem on Washington was a delightful find. Once inside this quaint ristorante which contains about eight tables, you're welcomed inside by the owner's son who graciously finds you the table of your choice. You feel as if your inside his parents home as he explains that his mother is in the kitchen making incredible food specials while his father is baking fresh bread which will be delivered by the Baker himself, along with a side of olio e spezie to dip the hot bread. Everything is homemade. The gnocchi noodles are hand rolled, stuffed with fresh parmesan that contrast the fluffy, cloud like puffy noodles contain within an amazing cheese sauce. The fresh lasagna noodles are thin, allowing many layers that are built upon cheeses and fresh meats adorned with the perfect red sauce. If there were a smidgen of room left, I would have tried the tiramisu, made by momma. Perhaps there next time... Thank you for your hospitalitya! Mangia!

i live in New York City but have been vacationing in Sarasota for over 40 years and somehow never visited D’Corato until this past week. All I can say is WOW! This is the best Italian food I have ever had outside of Italy. And it rivals some of the best restaurants in Italy. It is seriously that good. Plus the service is the best you will ever get. When the waiter comes up to your table and says “tonight my mom has prepared a wonderful homemade ravioli with...and my dad is baking fresh bread for you...” he is not joking. This is a mom and pop AND son establishment and it will make you think you were invited into someone’s home in Italy and their mother is cooking for you.

I had the veal picatini which was devine, my mom had the fish which was perfectly prepared with the lightest of sauces, my nephew had the gnocchi with four cheese sauce which was the best and lightest gnocchi I have ever had in my life (and I’ve tried some amazing gnocchi). Even the simply prepared fresh vegetables were incredible.

The surroundings and decor are not fancy, yet manage to be adorable and homey. And somehow make sure you leave room for mom and dad’s homemade desserts. We had the tiramisu and a lemon panacotta with berries - both to die for.

And to top it all off, the prices are reasonable especially given the quality of the food. Do not miss this gem in downtown Sarasota...just overlook the fact it’s tucked behind a Vape shop and Tarot card reader...I promise you you’ll...

A little Hidden Treasure from Italy in Sarasota

We were visiting Sarasota to celebrate my wife's Birthday and we had a craving for Italian. Not just your regular Spaghetti and Meatballs but something VERY unique and different. We had several conditions to look for Online. Atmosphere Service and of course, Food Quality. After looking at many places, here it was, this little hidden Gem that matched ALL our conditions.

Making our reservation (highly recommended) for 6 was easy. The entrance was very nicely decorated. In such a way that it seem like we were walking into a small local restaurant in the outskirts of the Italian Peninsula.

Once inside, we realized it was small enough for an intimate dinner experience. The Service was above and beyond our expectations (BRAVO) Each one of us, tried different dishes and one couldn't be better than the other. Our server was fluent in at least 3 different languages and made our dinner experiences just AMAZING.

There are NO words on how this place, its staff and owner made our weekend unforgettable. Grazie...
