Growler's Pub — Restaurant in Sarasota

The lady bartender absolutely does not know how to make a drink. Why did I had to get the drink remade and attempted to get it remade again. The bartender knowledge of making drinks needs to tested. I got a blue Long Island because it sneaks up on you. You can’t taste the alcohol really. I took (2) sips and the felt like I took 2 shots of patron. I immediately ordered food because I was not gone make it out of the establishment. Crazy thing is I’m typing this while sitting in the restaurant. Plus I had a friend try it so they don’t think I’m playing. They say it taste like it’s almost 5 different liqueurs in it. Lol first time coming here here too. I ordered the Philly, P.S It doesn’t come with fries, however it should for 13.99 instead, but I ain’t gone lie it’s pretty good but it’s not the best I had but for the commendation it was good and plus it was even better after I had a white tea shot which was outstanding. UPDATE: March 7 2018 Growlers Pub has been sold and according to the new owners will reopen after some minor renovations. They will also now serve food. Unknown if the pub will have a new name.

A nondescript neighborhood type bar with a mostly neighborhood crowd. The time I visited there was a mixture of college students from the two nearby colleges, New College of Florida and Ringling School of Art and some older folks. The parking can be tight on busy days and when you visit for the first time the building can be missed, keep your eyes peeled! After being told we had a designated driver the bartender comped him with a couple of sodas. She was very friendly and very attentive! A very neighborly pub. Go have a drink. There's outside...

Great beer selection! The group of us have been loyal patrons of Growler's for years but each time we go the vibes are deteriorating. This time was not unexpected but still very unsatisfactory the wait staff seems as though maybe management or the owners do not expect much from them or possibly have little experience or training. They could very well be having new ownership growing pains. But regardless if you are a local you know there are better places, if you are new to the area follow the locals. Sorry Growlers we hope you come back to life you used to...
