I don't know how with all the good reviews but it must be time of day. Public safety warning. DO NOT EAT HERE LATE NIGHT. This is my second time through. I work with food, so my standard might be higher then some. Listen, new cook hasn't worked in food before, worked construction. I've wasted 65 bucks at this place, both times were cold food. Bacon that isn't being made to order, black lettuce. Fish fries. Which is when you drop fries in the same fryer as fish product. Line cooks and anyone can tell you, if it's not hot, and it should be hot, dont serve it. If you wouldn't eat it, dont serve it. If you wouldn't feed it to a loved one, dont serve it.
These golden rules have been long forgotten and since it's my second time wasting my money, I've now thrown up twice and I only had one bite. My girlfriends tounge is swollen, and this is a repeat offence, I would steer clear until they get this guy trained right and get him food safety certified. He doesn't belong in a kitchen yet, he did say he cleaned it alot and pressure washed a ton. I'd bet it w as s clean in there. I ordered a BLT. A BLT guys.... bacon was 3 to 5 hours old and not held at its 140 degree minimum for a max hold time of 30 mins. Lettuce had signs of molding and not being kept properly and resealed after opening. Or holding past expire. My fries tasted straight up like fish, and that would also explain her swollen tounge and my stinging mouths when we both have an allergy, that we communicated. I wish the best for the guy, he seemed like a good person, but he needs training and some work, I would check your food if you eat here after 10pm, and I wouldn't settle. It WILL make you sick. Food borne illness. WRITTEN FROM MY TOILET
As we as food service professionals know, impression is everything. Because this ihop is making my stomach hate me, I will never touch a ihop again until I long forget this, and I'm telling the internet, my coworkers, their grandparents, my dog, my friends, my goldfish, to steer clear. Now if a manager gets ahold of me, and at least offers my.money back, or two free meals, or something other then a sorry and a free order of hashbrowns, I'd be willing to go back.
Dont even bother if you can't bring it to the table. I hope Dennys gets better so I can go there now. I would have been an ihop regular if this hadn't happen ed. Good lord this hurts! MY...
Read moreMy first experience with this place but honestly? Never again!?!?!! SMH
We arrived at the empty parking lot (someone knows something about this place). There were SOME kind of drugs and trash in the parking lot. Should've been a clue 🧩. That's in me. Then, we were offered coffee, and I asked for extra creamer. The really bad waitress brought coffee creamer not half and half. There was half and half on the table! I asked for the same half and half and she proceeded to ARGUE telling me in a voice like "what else do you want" that she HAD brought the creamer for crying out loud. I explained it was not half and half. She continues to argue so I show her it's spelled out on the packaging "half and half." By this time I am done arguing but she is not because she continues on then finally said that was all the IHop has. They don't have half and half. Again, it's on the table. Did a customer leave the half and half? I asked how it was on the table if they didn't have it? That's reasonable, right? Sorry if I was a little rude being told NOT to believe my own eyes. Check out the pictures.
I closed my menu and ordered nothing. The bill was still $22.00! And, when I asked for a glass of water she came back with a bewildered look on her face and said "did you want something?" I said I would really like the water I asked for (THREE TIMES BY THIS POINT), and she says she's sorry but not a nice sorry. Anyone can have a bad day. I know. Finally though, I got the water but then half the food we were so dearly charged for was NOT edible! 😔
Can we leave them no stars? Take a look at the pictures too.
We were served dog food that was frankly disgusting. Actually dog food is not this expensive, and if we're served crap then I would rather have it called what it is -- crap!
Take a look too at all the other reviews where the owner responds to these posts, but obviously nothing gets done because all of this is still happening today. Too sad. I think the days of the clean, courteous IHop restaurants are over thanks to this (only) Sarasota chain. Think I will contact Corporate and ask if this is what they intended for the brand. Again zero stars for this place and based on how we were treated, they should...
Read moreI stop at IHOP maybe once every couple months. This is my first visit to this particular location. We arrived at 620am (20 minutes after they opened) and we were the 3rd table started in the restaurant. The server, Launa asked what we wanted to drink and I ordered a coffee and water, my partner ordered an iced tea. We were immediately told by the server that they didn't have any iced tea because she "hasn't made it yet". She told us to pick something else to drink.
I've worked in restaurants in the past, and there are certain responsibilities that the cook and the server do prior to opening. Making coffee, iced tea and performing basic prep is standard prior to the doors opening to guests. Not here!
Upon ordering, I requested a glass of water with my coffee. I asked 4 additional times throughout my visit and was acknowledged and forgotten (or ignored) every time. Launa spent an inordinate amount of time with one customer that she obviously knew, but she would not come back to our table.
After my partner ordered the cinnamon pancakes, just prior to the food being brought to the table she stopped by to explain that the restaurant didn't have any cinnamon. It was kind of surprising, but then again not really. He declined the pancakes, and when Launa went to the kitchen to pick up the food the cook yelled loudly enough to hear, "I already made them". Too bad. They weren't what we ordered.
The miniature pot of coffee that they bring to the table holds about two cups of coffee. She poured two cups when she dropped off the coffee initially, but the pot was empty and it stayed that way even though we asked for more.
The cinnamon pancakes were never taken off the bill.
I don't necessarily blame Launa, although she did provide very poor service. I blame the management of this location for allowing this extremely poor attention to customer service to even occur. And what about the cinnamon? Seriously, stop at Publix and pick up a container of you don't know how to properly order your inventory.
Extremely disappointing. I won't return to...
