My office decided to do an ice cream day and oversaw the ordering the ice cream. I decided to order from Main Street Creamery because it is the best ice cream in Sarasota. I used to work for an ice cream shop where they made the ice cream themselves, so I consider myself an expert in ice cream. I contacted to the manager, Roger because I wanted to see if there were options on the size, beside pints. The store only carries pint, but you can make arrangements to have other sizes made. We decided to go with a half gallon and ordered the homemade waffles, which are amazing. Roger was so accommodating he even gave us a few free toppings in little containers. The morning we were getting the ice cream I decided to make a change on one flavor for a sugar-free favor, since two people in the office were asking me about it. I emailed Roger and said he would contact the store. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and we didn’t get the sugar-free ice cream that afternoon. I sent Roger a quick email to let him know that for some reason we didn’t get it, but no biggie. Everyone in the office enjoyed the delicious ice cream and thanked him for all his help. He contacted me immediately and was very apologetic about what happened, and explained that it was his fault. He said that a sugar-free butter pecan ice cream would be delivered to my office for the person that wanted it. I had no idea that Roger would hand-deliver the ice cream himself. He made one girl in the office very happy because she refused to have any ice cream with sugar. This is what I call beyond the call of duty, and excellent customer service. The kind of service the small businesses used to have many years ago and it shows that some business still has it. I highly recommend that you have an ice cream day at your office and use Main Street Creamery. It’s a great idea and it makes a lot of employees very happy. Nice way to say thank you to your...
Read moreFirst, walking in to this place you are transported to a time where the 50’s meets modern day. I love it. It’s pristine. So clean, organized, & that delicious smell of ice cream. I really wish there was one in Vegas! & quite frankly, Vegas needs one that also caters to non-vegans.
They have several dairy free/vegan options, which is wonderful. I’m not playing around when I say that this is the best ice cream I’ve ever had! I could not believe how incredible this was.
We walked in close to closing & politely asked if we were still ok to get something. We were met with the friendliest & kindness smile, & was told “of course. You have plenty of time (5 mins to close)!”
We sat down to eat & it was spectacular! If I wasn’t so full from dinner I would have taken some to go! lol.
Thanks Team Main...
Read moreSorry to disappoint everyone, Main Street Creamery has super average ice cream. THEY DON'T MAKE IT. Read the information on the ice cream tubs in their fridge, it's by Yoders! If you go to any Detweiler's grocery store, you get the exact same ice cream, fresh behind the counter or in the frozen section . . . and it costs half the price. You will find Yoders in grocery stores all over the place. No relation to the Yoder family in the Pinecraft / Amish district in Sarasota btw. Yoder's ice cream has tons of junk ingredients (gums, corn syrup?!!, natural flavers, etc). If you want to try decent ice cream, try Made In Rome Organic Gelato on Siesta Key. I admit it's expensive, but at least they actually make it, there are no junk ingredients like there are in the Main Street Creamery...
