Potbelly — Restaurant in Sarasota

Rude staff very strange behavior while placing my order, big guy at the front with Marshal on his name tag, making bug eyes while I asked questions and was making faces with staff while I was stating the toppings and asking questions, the entire team looks pissed off like they dont want to be there and it was only 10:58 in the am. A delivery man or some kind of service worker was seen outside the store in blue gloves, near the dumpster and back inside in food prep area with same gloves on chatting with Marshal who he was making faces with, unsanitary! The attitude was in the way he made my sandwiches moving slow and sloppy, I had to ask for a refund aa this was my first time visiting and I made a special drive over to support the location, I also read another review just now about a complaint there about attitude so my observation was right, losey staff abusing paying customers for no reason beware because you will have to keep your anger down not to ask what the hell is wrong with him. Bug eyes and making faces while making food is a turn off...

While my mother was in the hospital (Sarasota Memorial) for surgery I decided to walk across the street with my father to Potbelly for lunch. It wasn't busy so I was able to order sandwiches without any problem. My father ordered the "pizza melt" and I ordered "the wreck".

The pizza melt has basically everything a pizza would have on it from the pepperoni to the capicola, meatballs, and provolone cheese. And the wreck is made up of turkey, ham, roast beef, and salami accompanied by Swiss cheese.

Both sandwiches were extremely good.

Now there is a great view of Sarasota Memorial from the window and of the traffic on Tamiami. Plus the decor is posters, signs, and memorabilia that you would typically find in certain restaurants.

I know the next time I go I'm getting the prime rib...

Congrats on your grand opening today!! I’m so happy that you guys are in Sarasota now and that I don’t have to wait until my trips to Chicago to enjoy all of your delicious food!! I was very surprised at that incredible use of this space that you made as the former tenant Tijuana Flats was very cramped and very old and worn out looking… you guys made this space look amazing and I love all the little nods that you have made to Sarasota in all of your decorating! My Chicken Salad Sandwich was as amazing as I remember in Chicago and I’m glad that you guys finally added vinegar to the menu….that completes my sandwich!! Haha. I wish you guys the best here...
