I picked up a couple items to try: tiger tail donut, apple fritter and Asiago bagel. There was some color bleed in the icing on the tiger tail, as you can see in the photo, but it did not affect the taste. Sometimes I like the simple donuts, raised and glazed, or glazed chocolate cake. If a place can get those right, chances are the rest will be good also, so I thought the tiger tail would be a good test. Apple fritters are hit or miss, so they are also a good test item.
I will say that nothing tasted oily or greasy. I like a little more cinnamon in my fritters, but that's a personal preference. Overall, the donut and fritter were good.
The bagel was dense, chewy, had a good crumb and toasted nicely. The flavor was good.
The store and display cases were very clean and the staff was very friendly.
I am not a big donut shop person - it's been almost 3 years since the last time I stopped in one - but I could see myself going back for a sandwich or...
Read moreI recently visited RONC Donuts & Bagels Café again in Sarasota and was thoroughly impressed. Their handcrafted donuts, available in flavors like Glazed, Chocolate Glazed, and Cannoli, are freshly made daily and absolutely delicious. The New York-style bagels, including varieties such as Asiago and Jalapeño, are equally delightful. I personally chose Everything and Bacon Swiss! So good! Perfect wife eating in or on the go. The café also offers a range of breakfast sandwiches, like the Sausage, Egg, Bacon, and Cheese Croissant, and lunch options, including the RONC Cuban Sandwich with homemade roast pork and ham. Pair your meal with their expertly brewed coffee, I did the Cappuccino, or try one of their signature drinks, like the Caramel Latte. With two convenient locations at 3141 North Tamiami Trail and 6000 N. Lockwood Ridge, RONC is a must-visit for anyone in the area. You won’t find better in...
Read moreRonc Donuts is a true hidden gem, and its heart and soul is Andreas — an Italian artist disguised as a donut maker. Every single donut is made fresh daily, and calling them “donuts” barely does them justice. They’re edible art — and that’s exactly why Andreas proudly calls himself the Picasso of Donuts. He’s not joking, and once you taste one, you’ll understand why.
Andreas used to be a franchise owner but quickly realized the cookie-cutter, industrialized assembly-line approach just wasn’t for him. He wanted more than mass production — he wanted to offer choice, quality, and soul.
At Ronc Donuts, you’ll taste that passion. Andreas is constantly innovating, improving, and experimenting, all to bring joy to his customers’ palates. This isn’t just a donut shop — it’s a love letter to craft, flavor, and the freedom to do things differently.
If you haven’t been yet… go. Your taste buds deserve...
