First, I have to say I rarely make reviews on food places unless I am really disappointed. I wouldn’t be making this if I hadn’t already dined at Red Fuego previously and didn’t have anything to compare it to.
In the past I’ve always eaten at the Red Fuego in Lehi and have always had the best experience. I can not say the same for the Saratoga location. Both my son and I ordered the Lomo Saltado and after waiting for nearly 35 minutes and having to track down the teenage cashier who was occupied with her friends visiting her at work, to tell her our order was ready after it sat there for almost 5 minutes in the window, I sat down to eat and realized it was not even remotely close to the amount of meat I usually receive. I’ve added photos (after I removed the onions and tomatoes away to show just how little meat there is.) It’s not even just the fact there were 5 pieces of meat. 5 pieces can be a lot if they are thickly cut (which is what I’ve received in the past at the lehi location) but these were very thin slices.
I would expect this at a less expensive place but for $20(including tax don’t come at me) a plate, I was definitely disappointed.
I will still recommend anyone to RedFuego because the food is THAT good but I would advise to only frequent the Lehi location unless something changes at the Saratoga location with the service and the...
Read moreI regret to say that this location of Red Fuego falls far short of expectations, especially compared to others in the chain. Consistently, they appear to be out of essential menu items, including sides and even chicken hardly acceptable for a restaurant specializing in this dish.
On my most recent visit, I ordered a full chicken, only to find they were out of fruit and plantains. To make matters worse, the four sauces provided with the meal were barely a third full. When I requested two additional sauces, I was informed there would be an extra charge. Considering the meal cost nearly $40, this level of stinginess is baffling and disappointing.
This experience has convinced me to take my business elsewhere. For those seeking a better Red Fuego experience, I highly recommend the Lehi location. They are consistently well-stocked, generous with sauces, and deliver the quality and service you’d expect. I would even recommend another Peruvian restaurant such as La carreta or se llama Peru they won’t charge you for sauce lol. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for this particular location, and I won’t...
Read moreA big letdown, unfortunately.
I was really excited to try this place since I love Peruvian food and have enjoyed other spots like Viva Chicken before (which happens to be the best Peruvian restaurant ever). Unfortunately, this experience fell short. The food was quite bland and didn’t have the bold, vibrant flavors I was hoping for. The ingredients seemed ok, but overall, the dishes felt like they were missing the care and passion that make Peruvian cuisine so special.
We ordered two family meals with whole chicken, rice, and beans. Everything was very underseasoned, and the sauce didn’t really bring much flavor or excitement to the meal.
A few of us also felt pretty bloated afterward, which was disappointing. Regarding the food, not a good experience. Very frustrating when you spend $100 on dinner.
On the positive side, the service was good and the atmosphere is nice and clean. We appreciated the tidy tables and welcoming space. However, given the higher prices, I was expecting much better quality and a more authentic taste.
Overall, I was disappointed and wouldn’t come here again or...
