I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I need to leave this one. My family and I love Zao. We ordered online from this location once a week without failure since they opened. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gotten worse overtime. They often messed up our order like others have mentioned. Missing sauces, drinks, wrong meat, undercooked noodles etc. But I learned to check every time before I leave so they can fix it. It wasn't that bothersome until today when I started eating my bowl with rice noodles and they were super overcooked and mushy. Like they cooked them but never rinsed them and served them like that. I tried to take a couple of bites until i couldn't handle the flavor and texture so I grabbed the chicken and veggies out of it and ate that part. Unfortunately I'm now in the middle of the night not being able to sleep because I got food poisoning from eating there. Just hoping the rest of my family doesn't start feeling sick as well. The prices feel inflated, and somehow you end up getting less than you expectâliterally. Food is placed in your bowl⌠then taken back out again. Itâs like watching some bizarre âhockey pokeyâ performance, where your meal goes in, your meal comes out, your meal shakes all aboutâbefore disappearing back into the bin.
To add insult to injury, staff carry on talking about customers in Spanish right in front of the very people theyâre servingâassuming no one nearby can understand. I understood. It wasnât professional.
The atmosphere? Belligerent rather than welcoming. The value? Nonexistent. If youâre looking to pay more for less while being treated like a nuisance, this might be your place. They messed up my order, and no one seemed to know what to do or how to solve it, so they asked me to talk to the âmanager.â Sheâs this rude, middle aged lady, who just told me someone else had taken my order and there was nothing she could do about and if I wanted some sort of âsolutionâ it was gonna be a while before she could do something about it because there were more orders she needed to take, she was super rude literally the entire time I was there, she asked me to step aside and get out of her way so she could take other orders, I waited there for about 20 min and I noticed no one seemed to know what they were doing, they messed up like 4 other orders.
