My wife and I went to Morris, Illinois IHOP for lunch, today. The food was good, as usual. The service was okay. When I went to pay my bill, I presented a discount card from the Morris Redskins high school football team. The discount card cost me $20.00. The discount card authorizes discounts at a variety of local businesses. The money that the Morris football team gets from the sale of these discount cards goes toward the purchase of football team stuff. One of the participating local businesses is the Morris IHOP. The discount card clearly states that I get a 20% discount on the total purchase. There are no printed restrictions. When I presented the discount card, two different employees (I'm assuming that one of them was a manager) told me that the discount didn't include drinks. I pointed out that the discount card stated "total purchase" and didn't list any restrictions. One of the employees (the manager?) told me that they would give me the full discount this time, but, not after today. I have since contacted IHOP corporate offices and the discount card company. I was told by both that the problem would be corrected. Shame on Morris IHOP for not honoring their commitment. I will go back, again, just to see if they correct their confusion about their commitment. It's not about the money. It is all about integrity and the principle.
UPDATE: Someone from Morris IHOP (One of the bosses) called me and apologized for the above detailed misunderstanding. She told me that the confusion will be corrected. I was satisfied with her explanation. Otherwise, IHOP has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I will be back and I recommend them to anyone looking for a great...

The location is good as it is right off of I-80 and Rt.47 and has adequate parking. We went on Halloween (10-31-21) and the staff was festive and friendly.
Much like every business now, it's obvious that they are struggling to deal with employee shortages, but they made it work and were as attentive as we needed.
Remember, when you go out to eat now that you need to allot more time and exercise more patience than previously required. I did call ahead to check if we would be able to be seated quickly and I recommend that you do the same (pretty much a good rule of thumb now for every business that is still managing to stay open).
Our Server and the Manager (?) checked on us often enough and made the effort to engage with us and to share some humor and make our visit a positive experience. I truly appreciate that.
All of our food arrived to our table together, hot and fresh and as ordered.
Each of us ordered from the breakfast menu (as expected, the menu is reduced in selection due to the ... current situation) and all of our food was well prepared and presented.
We were a party of five and my Grandson ordered the Create your own Scary Face Pancakes and he had a fun time and tasty food for breakfast. I had the Bacon Temptation Omelette and it was very good.
I recommend that you visit and I HOPe that your experience will be a positive one too.
I Rate this visit 4/5...
Read moreChances are you know IHOP food so I'm not going to go on about that because it was as expected, as good as any other; though, I will say my server was knowledgeable about the menu when I had questions and was able to help me "specialize" my pancakes with fresh fruit. The whole staff was extremely friendly and took very good care. They did isolate us in a separate dining area in the corner due to having a service dog (without asking) which is a huge no-no, but due to their demeanor and kind attitude I do believe they were just unaware of this. I did also learn another service dog frequents the IHOP and, while I didn't ask, it's possible they request to be seated this way. After being seated, the server knew very well not to interact with my dog and she was perfect (and my dog loved her!). We were also never forgotten, which is one of the dangers in being seated so far away. I realize many reading this won't have service dogs, but their handling of one does speak to a place. (BTW: it's always ok to just ask if you don't know something and need to interact). Anyway, my point is in this case it ended up not bothering me due to their attitude bc that's really most important and in the end I could tell theirs was positive. So, I would definitely go back if in Morris again! I am sure they would be kind and take great...
