The location is directly next to an adult 21+ only shop, right off of large interstate, so honestly that didn't scream family friendly to me, and I was traveling with my kids. When we checked in I was told they only had a reservation for one of the two rooms I booked and paid for entirely online (being told it was not refundable). I was upset and asked to speak with the manager after being told there was nothing they could do about it (even though I had, on me, confirmation of TWO paid rooms) I was told that would be impossible because she is in Arizona and I would have to take it up with the online service I booked through! I was literally standing there with my family and she told me, many times, I would need to figure it out on my own because there was "nothing they could do".... I have never been treated like that at a hotel. I walked outside to call the online reservation service and 3 minutes later she came running out telling me she found the reservation (her entire demeanor had changed at that point and she was apologetic and got us rooms next to each other). I'm the hotel looks like a dump from outside so I was PLEASANTLY surprised by the condition of the rooms. They are very clean and inviting. Comfortable. The tv's are large, the beds have comfortable bedding and the sitting chair is a nice addition. The fridge and microwave was great for me traveling with the kids. The bathrooms are extremely small and it was impossible for me to stand in there and help my daughter in/out of the shower and getting ready for bed. It is one person, standing room only, lol! So, at this point I would have given the hotel 4 stars, knocking one off of the reception we were given and the shady location and dumpy exterior, but then night time came... Omg. Don't stay here if you need rest at night. The walls are paper thin. We were on the first floor and I could hear EVERY step the people above me took. I would have called about it but I could tell they were just walking, not being obnoxious. I woke up to the sounds for the last time at 5 am and decided to...
Read moreThe beds being comfortable was a plus. Regardless of price point though, I always want cleanliness and working order of what the hotel/room does offer. Our sink could use a stopper in the drain, if not to catch items that may fall, at least to hide the sink gunk. Similar build up on the shower head should be cleaned, and there were a few long hairs floating in the toilet when we arrived. There is also a bulb (1 of the 4) burned out in the bathroom; if housekeeping doesn't have bulbs on hand while turning over rooms, maintenance should be called. With the bathroom area pretty tight on space, you may consider moving the ice container and coffee items, to the main room on the desk table. Lights didn't come on when we arrived and used the first wall switch but we figured out the lamps needed turned on. Charger on lamp between beds is also reliant on that switch being on, so that can cause headache including uncharged devices if you don't notice it right away. Lining up the lights to be on when you flip the entry wall switch would be nice. (I.e., before housekeeping leaves room) Wall air unit smelled extremely musty. It seems like that's sadly a standard across most hotels anymore. Found a red flour beetle on me/in bed with kind of leaves you with the eebie jeebies feeling. For a lacking safety factor, the windows in the halls being open wasn't ideal. I assume this is for the air units to be replaced, but it may be standard practice part of the year depending on weather. Did not know the pool would be closed so that's no longer an amenity. Breakfast was interesting with the options provided, but overall OK as it met our needs. The space is limited so if you aren't going to fix the juice machine, might as well remove it from...
Read moreWe were disappointed by our stay, though several aspects of the hotel were very nice. We were on a long road trip with small children and just needed a place to stay for the night. We arrived late & were there about 9h. Check in went smoothly & staff was friendly. We were surprised to find the hallway in the midst of remodeling - carpet torn up to the subfloor/glue with old & new carpet rolled up in the corners, scraps here & there. Our room was beautiful & very clean- a welcome surprise after the hallway! We could not get wifi to work. The beds were pretty comfortable & the room was nice and cool with the air conditioner. The room had a terrible smell of old smoke that seemed to be coming from the vents. We did not complain to staff, although perhaps we should have. The kids were asleep and comfortable. It seemed to be too much of a hassle to change rooms - and, honestly, I was expecting most of the other rooms to be similar. The bathroom was very clean, though extremely small! You could barely open the door without hitting the toilet seat - there was literally no place to hang a roll of toilet paper! It just sat on the counter! Overall it was a decent place to sleep. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, & we never heard any neighbors. The worst part was the smell of old smoke. I certainly wish the night was cheaper for the quality we ended up with, however. Too expensive for what we...
