Traveling for business I decided to give myself an extra day in town and booked with this location. The Express Inn was the most expensive for the location, which isn't normal in my experiences, but then find out upon arrival there is an extra incidentals charge. I'm not normally one to claim status but as a diamond elite member I feel that maybe that's something that wouldn't be needed. I've stayed with the company enough to reach that level that I feel it more of an insult to put that hold on my account than anything (maybe that's just me but I find it bogus). As a diamond elite member I was upgraded to a double queen suite and I continue to be grateful for such perks. However, that room had no working phones (two), coffee maker and had a hair dryer that sounded like it was grinding rocks would overheat and turn off (not trip the GFCI outlet nor the GFI plugin). I reported this to the front desk and the attendant decided to just move me to another room, which I was fine with. I move to the next room, one floor down but similar accomodations, and when I attempt to return to the lobby to return my original card-key I find that there is no visible "down" button for the elevator. It's been depressed so far that it's sunken into the housing. I located the button, take a picture, return to the desk and report this issue. The attendant says they are well aware of it and it had happened earlier the same weekend due to "those types of people"... I assume I'm not one of "those people" but hard to tell honestly after incurring the incidentals hold. At this point I'm confused as to why this safety hazard hasn't been addressed and why there are all these problems at the highest priced establishment in the area. So I return to my room and start looking around and documenting the most mundane issues. They are as follows for both rooms: unplugged TV, unplugged bed lamp, broken hair dryer, broken coffee pot, nonfunctioning phone, no tissues in the bathroom, no trash liner, no hand sanitizer on the 1st and 3rd floor, hand sanitizer on the 2nd floor smelt more closely to a mix of tequila and everclear then marked hand sanitizer. I'm full disclosure, as a diamond elite member, I checked out of that Holiday Inn Express and went down the road about a block to stay at a Hamp for four times ten less and minus the incidentals hold (as a non-member). Unhappy and disappointed about the...
Read moreThe hotel was very clean but what impressed me the most was how quiet it was. Doors are not the loud banging kind that are in so many hotels. Always wonder why doors often have an inch or so between their bottom and the frame, and are so heavy that every time anyone goes in/out of their room the sound reverberates down the hall. Strange. The only issue to call attention to is that there is no rubber mat to put on the shower/tub bottom. Mine was slick as ice and my son with a room just like mine, (king suite) actually fell while showering. Fortunately he was not hurt, but several days later says he is really sore. A rubber mat cannot be that expensive and may avoid costly injuries. The only other comment is that the front desk did not have a Bible for guests to use. They are normally not in rooms anymore but are provided on request. That is the first time in many hotel stays that my son was not able to get one..||The desk attendants were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast included with the room was the normal scrambled eggs and sausage, fruit, cereal, etc., but was warm and restocked as needed. Fruit was fresh and there were plenty of choices. All in all, it is a very nice Holiday Inn Express, and the staff was helpful and courteous. I would return if traveling in that area. Also, several good places to eat within...
Read moreMy son plays travel baseball so we stay at many Holiday Inn Express hotels. This location is at the top of our list given our outstanding experience. It is located at a great halfway point between Omaha and our metro Detroit home. Our room was clean and comfortable. It had all the standard things you expect to find but nicer with a great room layout. The beds were very comfortable. Service was over the top. We were a few minutes late getting to the complimentary breakfast. I went down with the hopes of getting a coffee and found the breakfast still set up with an employee getting ready to clean it all up. She encouraged me to fill up some plates with what I wanted and even provided me with a tray to carry them up to my room. My husband and son were very appreciative of the breakfast. The hotel also has a very nice coffee machine that grinds the beans fresh for each cup with all the fixings. This is open to guests at all hours so I was able to grab another cup on our way out. These little things really make a difference for us as guests. I highly recommend this location and will stop again if I’m ever looking for a hotel in this area. I’d also like to mention that this location is also great with restaurants and stores that you can easily get anything you might need...
