I'm not sure if there is enough space for the negatives on this hotel but here we go. We checked in because the super 8 in Yorkville was booked. We just needed a place with a bed and a shower. That's about all we got and even the cleanliness of the bed was questionable. But starting with the room. The carpets were kind of sticky and you could tell whoever vacuums does not use a crevice tool as there were plenty of crumbs around the baseboards and legs of the table. There recliner looked dirty and the bottom part where it kicked out was hanging off on the left side. It's almost like the recliner was saying please take me out to the alley and put me out of my misery. The AC was a little noisier than we would prefer but we have had worse. Now for the real negative. The toilet was not even bolted to the floor so when my wife or I sat on it it rocked. Not to mention the lid was not secure. The shower was good though. Not great but good. Just outside the bathroom door is your little sink and it dripped but even worse after our toiletries were on there we realized that the faucet leaked around the base leaving running water all along the backsplash. We just felt that the room was borderline that we left our luggage on top of the desk as we were not comfortable placing it on the bed or that recliner and definitely not the floor. We were charged about $70 for the room and we would say that it was probably about a $49 room. Stayed in much better hotels for $70. To top it off at checkout in the morning I went down to the breakfast area figuring I could at least get a cup of coffee. Every hotel I have stayed at over the last year including 2020 at least provided some kind of coffee. I went down and the owner was there and had asked me if I was looking for something. I told him coffee. He said in his accent that "No coffee. Covid." Covid? Let's talk about all of the hits in the room if we are going to go to that excuse. We could start with the remote control that we did not touch while we were staying there because Lord knows if it was wiped down and that's just the first hit. I really walked away from that conversation telling myself that they just didn't want to spend an extra penny on their customers. If you look back on previous reviews on TripAdvisor going back to 2018 and 2019, they were not offering much for breakfast back then either which tells me that they just want your $70 and you can move on your way. If you are not a repeat customer they seem to be very okay with that. My recommendation would be to stay up the road if there are vacancies regardless if it is even $20 more. If you are on a budget and $65 or $70 sounds good to you then maybe chance it. Especially if you are not going to be in...
Read morePlace is convenient its right next door to Dollar Tree, Walmart, and various fast food and other places to eat. They're currently under reservation, so the place smells like paint here and there, which is fine, and im sure the rooms will get a boost, but they're clean for sure. The service, though, haha. I got a reservation from priceline for 2 days, I got there and went through the process of checking in (id, card on file for damages, etc.) and not even 30 minutes in the room I get a charge for $148 and some change on the card I put on file for the damages, talked to the front desk man and got it refunded no problem, cool, no issues. BUT I got another charge the following day for the same amount, I kept the balance low on that card so it declined so I brushed it off, but I got another charge for the same amount today which caused my bank to flag them to block. Which I did. Moving on from that, the staff is definitely meh to unprofessional at best: • they're barely understandable because of their accents (minor issue to me, i honestly couldn't care less if I can barely understand you as long as the overall experience is professional). • they offer barely minimum services, and if you have kids with you its even less offered - they don't offer juice like other hotels in the area (instead they charge you $2 for a can of soda or small Gatorade) , and today they ran out of milk (guy said it was bad) and told me to use coffee creamer and water for my kids cereal? Look, im all for making it work. Trust me, with 3 kids, you sometimes just gotta figure it out, but this is a BUISNESS in an age where everything is deliverable at the push of a few buttons (which the employee sits in a chair kicks his feet up and blasts TikTok shorts even while your eating breakfast so going the extra little to order some milk or something doesnt seem to be that much of an inconvenience) . I don't expect 10 star service in a 2 star hotel, but c'mon yall, Walmart is literally less than 5 minutes away. My 10 year old was even confused as to why it was a problem that arose in an establishment. Plus they got rid of their pool which was a suprise. Good place for single adults or workers. It's not a family hotel, though,...
Read moreThis place is horrible and desevered to be shut down. The smell of weed reeks in the hallways and the rooms. The wifi sucks here due to it keep going out.The fire existinughers are sealed up with no easy access in case of a fire. The fire doors are made of wood. The hallways have a few exit signs that are out. In case of a power outage use a flash light or your cell phone light due to the emergency lights don't work. The towels are damp like they were rushed for some reason. The desk clerks are nice when they're not distracted by slacking off. They seem to love to talk bad about customers in their own language. I work overnights and couldn't sleep due to someone playing loud music. The front desk wasnt helpful at all. The breakfast is non existent. They put out only a few paper plates or cups, off brand cereals and no coffee. The waffles left a horrible taste in my mouth.. The ac units toss out a horrible smell either it be hot or cold which it made me gag. The doors seems not to be locked and any riff raff can walk in right off the street because I tripped over some guy sleeping on the stairs which was dirty in the first place. The prices seems unfair for room. It should be alot cheaper because you're not alone in the room. I found a few cockroaches in the sink and in the tub. This place is a renovators dream come true. So please DON'T stay here if you can stay somewhere else if not then sleep in your car. I would give this place negative 100 stars if I could but I had to give it a star in order for my review to...
