Mangia Mornings — Restaurant in Saratoga

I have been wanting to go here for a while. Had a chance to stop by today. At 11:30AM on a Saturday, it's curious that the restaurant was rather empty. You'd ordered from the counter and servers bring foods and drinks to your table. The Good: 1) Service was top notch. They were quick to bring out our silverware, coffee, drinks and our orders. 2) Plenty of tables inside and out. The Not so good: 1) Upon entering the restaurant, there was this strange smell of over-flowed toilet. (really hope they'll find the source and fix it). No problem, we decided to sit outside. 2) Outside tables and chairs were dusty, we had to use the napkins provided with our silverware to clean the seats and table before sitting. 3) Foods portions were small ($18/plate of omelet, hash and toast). Toasts and hash were deep fried? Hash was so greasy and over done (I love crispy hash, but this is really overdoing it). Take away: Perhaps today was an off day. We'll try again another day with a different order and see...will...

Reason for the 3 stars is that I'm extremely picky when I order over easy eggs. My egg was over hard. I didn't send it back because it was edible and it was the basic breakfast, bacon and eggs. The oversized Almond croissant was tasty but just not a fan of oversized pastries. My husband had the same breakfasts with a brioche filled with custard. He liked the brioche and likes over hard eggs (asked for over easy). Breakfast came with toast (sourdough) perfectly buttered, but the jam was on the side in packets like a regular diner not gourmet cafe spot as it says on the building. The coffee was a bit bitter, but it may have been medium roast, not my taste. Overall It sounds like I didn't like it here but I did, just weird about my eggs and have a hard time sending it back just not worth it. I would probably order a latte next time although I like a black cup of dark roasts, I didn't ask. A lot of this is on me for not...

The food was meh, me and my friend both ordered Saratoga, she got a fruit salad and I got a hash brown as a side. The dishes came up quickly but got cold fast, and the portion was average.

What kinda piss me off was one of the waitress put the bill on our table when we haven’t finished our food, was just halfway done and there was no group waiting in line. About 5 mins later, another waitress came up and asked if she could take the bill. It’s pretty rude and unprofessional being like that, are you trying to kick us out by pushing us finish our plates when literally there was no one waiting for a table and we haven’t finished our meal yet? Please do better training on customer service.
