New Indian restaurant in Saratoga/ We went there a couple weeks ago, barely 10 days after opening. The place is covid "certified" as the tables were properly distanced, staff wearing masks, etc. Mostly outdoor seating with some indoor - we were indoors as it was a bit nippy that evening. The decor was decent but since it was sparse (due to social dist) it felt a bit empty but we liked the overall feel. The wait staff was ok and the owners did come by to check-in etc. Since the place was so new I got the sense that they were still getting used to the crowds and some bit of scurrying, etc. But overall no issues. For appetizers we got the crispy cauliflower, was decent, crispy and we especially appreciated the extra veggies that came with it. Although, I would have preferred a little less sauce - given everyone's preference varies would suggest they keep it on the drier side and provide sauce on the side. I also got an Indian beer to wash down the appetizers. For entrees, my fellow diner got the seafood trio platter and I got the lamb seekh kabab, kofta and onion kulcha. First things first, the portions were huge!!! We used the food for two days after that :). Anyway, my fellow diner liked the different types of the seafood, she thought it spiced (not heat) very well and tasted great. The lamb seekh kabab was good but I felt it was a small bit on the drier side just by itself. Since I was eating it with the kofta and that comes with a gravy, it was ok. The taste was awesome, good spice without too much heat. As I mentioned earlier, we took almost half the food home (took care of two meals!!) We were way too full but owner convinced us to try a kulfi on the house. Was decent, not too sweet and went down well. Overall a good place, would recommend they hold back on the portions a bit. Would definitely visit the place again.

My first time dining here & it was amazing!! As someone who appreciates but also does not understand Indian Cuisine, Mandala Indian Cuisine is a new restaurant in Saratoga that many do not know about yet because they only opened 6 months ago. When I actually walked in, I gasped in awe at the stunning chandelier which I then knew I was now in a restaurant to have an experience & not just eat. The decor is elegant with custom designed tables with a gold mandala as the focal point in each one. Even the dishes, glasses & silverware used throughout my meal felt like every detail was perfectly selected. Now for the food it was absolutely delicious!! I sat at the bar since it was just myself and had the chicken tikka masala along with the nan & the papadum which I never had before but one of the owners who was actually working behind the bar gave me some to try so thank you Raj because that honestly made my meal since the sauces that accompanied it were exquisite!! (FYI pic was after I ate but thought it was still a great photo to share here) As a former fine dining restaurant owner, I HIGHLY recommend Mandala Indian Cuisine for not only the food but the ambiance & overall experience...also do yourself a favor & go during the week when it's not as busy since weekends is when people flock to this beautiful Indian gem of Saratoga!!

We were traveling from Santa Cruz and unexpectedly found this Indian restaurant while looking for one that was open around 10pm. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful Mandala-themed decor throughout the restaurant. It had a classy and spacious atmosphere that we really liked. We decided to order our food to-go, but we felt like we were missing out on the experience of dining in. We ordered Gobi Manchurian, Malai Kofta, Veggie Tikka Masala, and the Bread Basket. Unfortunately, the Gobi Manchurian was very small and had too much ketchup, which made it taste bad. The Malai Kofta was just okay, even though we asked for it to be spicy, it was still sweet, which was expected. The Veggie Tikka Masala was also on the sweeter side. The curries came with basmati rice, but we realized that there wasn't enough curry for the amount of rice and bread we ordered. The breads, especially the butter naan, were burnt on the bottom and almost charred. Overall, our experience was mediocre, especially considering how nice the restaurant looked. I don't think I would come back or recommend it to anyone based on this experience. I really wanted to like this restaurant because there aren't many fine dining Indian restaurants with good food.

There’s an indoor outdoor seating area, a bar & clean toilets with two entry/exit points to the restaurant. An Indian restaurant not run by Indians always goes two ways for me- it’s either shoddy & awful or they make the effort to replicate the cuisine well. On a blistering hot day we asked to sit wherever the air conditioning was good & the server was unbothered. Didn’t appreciate being tried to hurry up to order as we needed some time with the menu, maybe we caught him on a bad day? The food was the highlight of the evening, the rack of lamb was well done & the tandoori chicken was a bit on the bland side for medium spice but very succulent. The dal makhni & butter chicken were also delicious and all the breads were fresh and flaky. I would probably come again thanks to the food & other servers that stepped in & were attentive & kind. Oh and parking is busy on the street but there’s a paid spot close by!

Ordered malai kofta and avocado chaat for takeout. Got complimentary rice Pros -open late at night till 1 am -complimentary rice with curries -good quality -decent ambience Cons -quite expensive since it is located in an uber rich neighbourhood -the taste is made to cater to global/diverse american people and not authentic indian. I asked for medium spicy but it was barely spicy. Rather the malai kofta felt a bit sweeter and quite bland. -avocado chaat is overrated and quite expensive. It doesnt have any crisp wafers (puri) but rather murmura and avocado with not enough chutneys and yet so expensive. Just a fancy presentation.

I ordered through a delivery app. The Rice pudding is made of milk and the milk has clearly gone bad. It is very sour in taste due to spoiled milk. I've had Rice pudding several times before (having this since my childhood), to know that this one has gone bad. This is going down the drain. The mumbai paneer chilli was horribly made. It was made with tomato ketchup which was not even part of the dish ingredient. A kid can make a better dish by watching YouTube. I can only taste ketchup in this dish. Disappointing. Why would such an expensive restaurant send such inedible horrible food to customers? There is no excuse.
