This is a place you go for the novelty. War-themed propaganda and patriotic decor are all throughout. Lots of cool history to look at and even the music is fitting to the era of WWII. Now let’s talk burgers. Not my favorite by any stretch, but also not my worst. Pretty ordinary, despite high praises elsewhere. Ingredients seem fresh, but it’s a bit under seasoned and a little dough-y on the bun side. It’s just lacking a little in the taste category overall. What I really had a problem with though is how it’s served. Every order is delivered to your table in a plastic shopping bag with a styrofoam container. Everyone here is dining in and you give us our food in a styrofoam container within a plastic bag?? What is this, 1988? I’m shocked nobody has mentioned this. Look, I’m not some hippie fanatic but c’mon, it’s 2023. Please find another way of doing this. Just more toxic waste. I even asked my ā€œserverā€ if he could recycle the bag and just give it to the next customer and he said ā€˜No, that it was an FDA regulation’. I call BS, but whatever. Find a more sustainable way to get your food to your customers or I won’t be heading back. I truly hope this review sparks the management to be more responsible.

Super good American food in a World War II throwback dinner! We got 3 different beef burgers, a veggie burger, and a chicken sub. Each had fresh slabs of tomatoes and homemade pickles on thick handmade burger patties. I got the slaw and it was very tasty; the fries were very good as well! Everyone was pleased! We then ordered milkshakes and a coke float to go - shutup they were soooo good! Try the strawberry - it's delicious! The ladies (servers) were dressed like Rosie Riveter - so cute! They were helpful and friendly! Super quick, good service, and the place was packed by the time we ordered our shakes. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because they were out of several items including root beer and one of our party really wanted a root beer float :( They also really need a sign inside the American Legion pointing you to the restaurant. Ps. The bathroom was very clean!

I always enjoy eating here - It’s to note that they get super packed on weekends, especially during times people are going out, as there happen to be events going on in nearby locations. I went last week during the weekend and experienced their rush hour. The customer service was great despite there being only two upfront workers taking orders, servicing the food to customers, and cleaning the empty tables. I waited more than an hour due to the kitchen being backed up, which can be annoying however I couldn’t take that frustration out on the people up front who have no control over what happens in the kitchen. The two who worked up front handled the stressful situation respectfully and professionally. The only bad experience I had was watching a customer practically harass the worker up front, demanding a refund (Might I add, this man got in my face because I got my food before him.) He proceeded to raise his voice at the worker who nonetheless gave him his refund and remained composed and respectful. If you’re reading this - Stop harassing workers for things they cannot control. They honestly shouldn’t have to be expected to handle disrespect and harassment ā€œprofessionallyā€, they should be able to defend themselves. That being said I’m leaving this review to also show appreciation to the two workers who I didn’t catch the names of (they worked the night shift last Saturday) - And all the other workers who provided a respectful and patient environment - the food here is wonderful and GREAT customer...

Very rude male staff member closed 5/7/24. I use to live in Savannah and Betty bombers was always a weekly go to. Came here to visit.. planned to eat here before our ghost tour. Checked out what time they closed etc… googled what time they closed. We got there about 15 mins before close and was rudely turned away. The doors were locked and chairs were already flipped. All but closed 15 mins prior to actual closing time. So I knocked and got the man’s attention. Asked if they were closed and he said yes.. so I asked why.. he proceeded to tell me as he made rude hand gestures stating ā€œwe stop taking orders 15 minutes before closeā€. I am in the service industry && I have NEVER had a restaurant stop taking orders before they were actually closed. Very very disappointed and the owners should be too. This can’t be a one time thing. it causes business to be lost daily and in the future by treating people this way. Like I said I’m in the service industry and I get being there all day or being slow and you are just ready to go. But you have a job to work…. There are business hours for a reason && there’s also a level of respect to be had when working with the general public. This guy needs to be trained on all of the above and the sad thing is he was probably the manager. Very disappointing m. Owners need to be aware of who they have running...

We got there about 12:30. We ordered pretty quickly. We were lucky a table was unoccupied near the window. It was dirty but upon alerting the staff, they quickly cleared it and wiped it down. We sat and were able to watch the comings and goings quite a bit. The front staff were working very hard and were very good about keeping up with their parts of the job. We couldn't tell how hard the staff behind the scenes were working nor how many were working but we could tell they seemed in the weeds. There were at least 6 parties in front of us waiting for their orders that I could see and It took quite awhile. We only ordered 3 meals (2 Philly cheese steaks and one pulled pork sandwhich). The food took 35-45 minutes to get. It was hot but a little overdone (the cheese steaks were extra crispy).

The decor was neat to look at and I enjoyed that very much. However, they could do a little sprucing up in the seating/tables. They seem like they have had better days. The table we sat at had cracks all over the top. The window brought in a lot of sunshine but also heat so that could be an exception just to that table. However, the seating arrangements could be improved to accommodate more people too. There was a lack of seating for those waiting when we were there. So all in all, I did enjoy what we ate but they have some...
