THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!!!! I drive 2.5 hours, one-way, to purchase their scones! I may have to look for a second home in Savannah because I wanna give them my money every week they publish their new menu!
FOOD: These are the best scones I've ever eaten! I promise I tasted the love and passion for excellence in every bite. They're moist and packed with flavor! I'm partial to savory, so most of my purchases are of their salty delights, like Chivey Cheddar, Jalapeno Cheddar, Parm Pesto, and Skonakopita! I've also tried a few of their sweet options, and WOW!!! I fell in love with their "Cinnamon", "The Carl" (cinnamon & raisin), and "Apple Fritter" Scuffins, as well as their Blackberry Lime scones. Also, you have to try the SconeBits. I was eating them like potato chips on my drive back home! Their ingredients are always fresh, which makes a considerable difference (fresh spinach, chives, berries, etc.)! If you haven't tried this place, please make it a point to do so SOON!
SERVICE: I'm greeted with a genuine smile each time I walk in, and no matter how many people are in line, I never feel rushed (although I am mindful of others waiting to place their orders). They're very patient and give helpful information about each scone to help you decide! The owner is very amiable and is often seen making scones in the back or helping out with orders upfront--WITH A SMILE!
ATMOSPHERE: The shop is always clean and neat; no matter how busy it is, everything seems to be in its place. Although it's slightly small, they've managed to keep it from looking cluttered while still displaying packaged teas, soft drinks, and other non-scone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not an expert but I think I am :) I love scones. I know I don't like the American scone often found at coffee shops and many bakeries. Flattish gobs of dough filled and drizzled with sugary stuff until you can't really identify it as a scone. A real scone is such a treat. Fluffy, yet leaning towards dry (I like dry), and if any sweetness, just subtle and not necessarily in every bite. Great with coffee. While Savannah Scone Company offers options to meet any palette, from savory to really sweet to traditional English, you'd be hard pressed to not find something you like (if you like scones. My M-in-law had one, once from a bakery near Canada and ruled them out. Her loss). I chose an oatmeal raisin scone which did have some drizzle on top. It was fluffy and not dense, but the addition of oatmeal in the dough always gets me. I love the chewiness and the pop of sweet from the raisins. All the scones looked good and I had to exercise restraint. In addition, she had traditional English style scones. I got the royal raisin and a side of Devonshire cream. Whoa. Whoa. The cream (no jam or anything else needed), was a decadent, satisfying breakfast for me with some tea. I am sad it's done and I live very far away. I'd highly recommend going here and feel free to stock up. I froze one of my scones and it was perfect when I thawed it. Good job! I'll give them my seal of "favorite scone" which has bounced around including from one place not far from here...

And I was never disappointed. Her ability to mix flavors and create combinations that are just so fun and delicious is really terrific. She can go from something like a cinnamon roll scone to one baked with jalapeƱos and all kinds of spices. Itās so clever you could use the scone almost like a bread for a sandwich! Her creativity knows no bounds and she is really good at what she does. Itās hard to only eat just one- Iāll be honest! I would encourage you to consider these as great gifts because theyāre so different from typical cookies or cupcakes. They are unique.
