I recently visited Gaylord with my coworkers for their lunch buffet, and I’m so glad to see it back! It had been a while since my last visit (pre-COVID), and I was happy to find that the quality and variety still hold up.
The buffet is available on Thursday, Friday, and weekends, offering a great selection of meats and vegetables at a very reasonable price. Some highlights included the Tandoori Chicken, Curry Chicken, and Fried Fish, along with delicious vegetable options like cauliflower, okra, and potatoes. One pleasant surprise was the vegetable soup, which was unexpectedly flavorful and comforting.
While it’s understandable that not everything from their full menu is included, the variety is still impressive for the price. The dessert selection was a nice finishing touch, featuring gulab jamun, rice pudding, and mango ice cream—a sweet way to end the meal. Plus, fresh garlic naan is served right at the table, adding the perfect accompaniment to the meal.
Beyond the food, the experience was made even better by the friendly and funny server, who kept things light and enjoyable. Our group of six had a fantastic time, and we even took advantage of their special offer—buy 3, get 1 free!
If you’re looking for an affordable, delicious, and satisfying lunch buffet, Gaylord is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be...
Read moreTerrible. Food was sweet n not even a bit spicy. Indian food are suppose to have some spice to it. False charged us. Told us it's going to be an automatic private room charge if you have that many ppl coming. It wasn't even private. It was open for anybody to see. PLUS there were four families sitting at our tables between 1pm to 2pm. Obviously private room should be closed doors and my party only. Private rooms should have their own food kept for us separately NOT wait in line with others. We served ourselves for buffet. A waiter never even came back when someone wanted coke, didn't even ask is there anything else we can get you? Just left. Also talked to the manager Ritesh yesterday and kept fighting with me how he was fair to charge us close to $1500 for 34 people and 6 kids and 2 babies. On top of that being said Daron was in charge on Sunday and told Ritesh there was no one else at our party just us but there was four other families between 1pm to 2pm that we never met before. Both the managers were terrible to talk to. Cheesecake factory, Chipotle, Chinese food is MUCH better than what we ate over the weekend and of course BETTER customer service than this. I should have RSVP somewhere else. So please people rethink before you have a party here. I was even told India...
Read moreService level was poor so as the food quality. I live in Skokie and go three to four times every year however my majority of the visit are in afternoon and I found the buffet menu in lunch. My earlier experience was good but this is probably common with most of the restaurants after covid as they run with short of staff. Quality of food. Earlier whenever I visited food was good and taste was authentic. This time taste "authentic" was missing. If u live close to Devon go to Sabri Nihari or Anmol or Delhi Darbar ( with new management) you will find cheaper and authentic taste there even after corona pandemic. Price. We can not consider it as reasonable a bit high or equivalent to downtown Chicago restaurants. Cleanliness. I agree to some other reviewers comment about cleanliness. Dishes were not clean and were sticky. Bathroom I have not seen any dirtiest bathroom like this and floor were sticky. Service Due to Diwali they had Buffet menu on the evening too. But nobody was there to look after the naan or bread counter was empty and u have to draw their attention to it which was painful for customer and shameful for them I could hear staff yelling and shouting or ordering on each other or finding excuses for not doing proper job...!! Never again to...
