I have been coming to this Seasons 52 for over a decade. It's a common Sunday event for my mother and I with us coming here on A Sunday at least 4 times a year. I really enjoy the food and how it gets updated with the season, hence the name. I also love that the food is more on the healthier scale for an American eatery, with smaller but definitely adequate portions.
Today we attended again and both had the steak tacos as our meals. I had the chicken tortilla soup ot start which was I'd say 3 out of 5 stars or points. The tacos were good, but we both agreed the taco shell/tortilla was too small for the amount of filling. Don't cut back on the filling!! Just could use a slightly bigger taco tortilla. 4/5 stars.
But the king 👑 of the trip was clearly the truffled risotto!!! (Pictured below) I am well versed in eating and cooking with fresh truffles from Italy, and I absolutely loved that the truffled risotto wasn't prepared with truffle spice or oil but instead actually had TRUE BLACK TRUFFLES in the risotto. Yes white truffles are a bit better - but black truffles are nothing to hold your nose to!!! Pro -tip from this truffle connoisseur: let the risotto cool till it's cold. I know you are thinking 'da fuq? I want my food warm.'. But trust me, let the truffles cool, truffle flavor comes out more pronounced on the tongue when it's cool than when it's warm. Trust me here, the flavor is way more intense after it cools. I would know I've ordered truffles and cooked with them often enough to know. Cool is much better. Truffles Risotto 5/5.
Edit: I went back last Sunday with my mother for restaurant week... Wow the below pictured Mushroom Bisque was absolutely divine. Honestly, the very best soup I've ever had. Believe me, if they jarred or canned this soup and sold it - I'd stock up and devour it like I did on Sunday. My mother also enjoyed the Mushroom Bisque to boot!!! The rotisserie chicken pictured was good too, not exactly what I like in chicken but it's just me, others will adore it I'm sure.
Lastly, with our last visit recently we had the pleasure of having Dani (Daniela) serve us. As someone who has served in 4 different restaurants, and also have 4+ other food service type jobs, Dani was absolutely majestic - majestic is the only word to describe her service. She was eloquent, spoke with brevity as to not drone on, was knowledgeable regarding the menu, made suggestions, refilled drinks without missing a moment, etc... Dani is fantastic... I mean...
Read moreFood is great but Manager and the staff are not good at all. Sat at bar one night and great food and a beer. Bartender told me she was leaving and needed to cash out? So I did and told her I wanted an order to go and please add it to my order before she leaves? So I sat there for over 45 minutes and the bartender never left talking me having fun with rest of staff but never came back or asked if I got my food yet? So I stopped her and said where Is my food? She looked at me and kept walking? After I paid she could care less if I got my food? So I asked to Manager? A very young lady came out and said that she was the manager.I told her what happens and she told me my dinner was taken care of? So she asked me over to register and handed me a gift cart. Two days later I came back to use gift card and no y seems to know what value of card was and let me sit there for 20 minutes ? So I walked up to her and said ok what is going on? So they got the Big manager who did nothing but was extremely rude to me several times. She told me the gift card was only worth $50. But I paid over a $100 for dinner. She looked at me like I was nothing but an inconvenience to her and I did not deserve the gift card. She and her little other manager both lied to me!!! I don’t care about the money I only care about how these people treated me!!!!!! This is not how you treat your customers that spent $200-300 a...
Read moreMy firm is holding a dinner at this restaurant, which makes me happy because I haven't been here in a long time.
I arrived a little early to give myself some breathing room, so I helped myself at the bar and ordered the new old fashioned.
The old fashioned was acceptable; it didn't have a harsh alcohol aftertaste, which I preferred; it was topped with orange peel to give it a citrus aroma and an amarena cherry to provide some sweetness; it also gave the drink a great look. I didn't like how they utilized crushed ice, which rapidly melted and diluted the drink.
The Maui tuna crunch salad was my main course. It contains a lot of fresh green variation that brings forth gorgeous colors. The chopped mango adds a hint of tartness. Almonds were sprinkled on top for texture. The red peppers have a lovely wood-grilled scent. In my perspective, they overcooked the tuna, causing it to lose some of its color. The dressing is acidic with a tinge of sweetness, and the meal is light and refreshing.
I finished my meal with the raspberry chocolate chip cannoli. It was served in a small shot glass to highlight the berry sauce and ricotta layer. It was creamy, and the cannoli worked well to give it a balanced texture; unfortunately, the serving was modest.
There's nothing more I could want for than a delicious dinner and the company of people I care about. The evening was ideal before the...
