Wendy's — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

Visit #1 This Schaumburg , IL Wendy’s location is hard to access by car.

You can only access it off of E. Higgins Road in the westbound lane only; or through a little maze of other business parking lots off of the N. Martingale St. entrance!

The layout of the drive thru and entrances to the restaurant itself is very flawed and dangerous for patrons (see visit 2 below).

The Wendy’s Baconator breakfast sandwich was average. The egg was overcooked, and it ought to be made fresh, fluffy, moist and delicious. The sandwich was cold as soon as I got it!

Visit 2 I dined in and wanted breakfast, but I just missed it by a few minutes; so I decided to buy a Dave’s Triple combo meal with the fries and drink.

We travel the United States, and we love elevated healthy, gourmet food, and we also love well crafted fast food—especially growing up in the Midwest in “Chicagoland.”

Wendy’s has a logo up on the wall about their food being fresh. The Dave’s Triple cheeseburger, in my opinion, did not TASTE fresh and was average. The beef wasn’t “grill fresh,” extra juicy, or delicious. It was too dense, not loosely packed, and had that generic type of McDonald’s burger taste, in my opinion.

This Wendy’s Cheeseburger was a 5 out of 10 at best.

Every Culver’s butter burger Kath and I have had in the last few months REALLY were fresh and FAR more delicious …and we rate every Culver’s butter burger an 8.75 to 9 out of 10 …..compared to the Wendy’s 5 out of 10 rating.

The inside of this Wendy’s looks a little bit more modern, but the one major issue are the seats in their booths. Many of their seat cushions have lost the cushion and you literally feel like you’re sitting on hardwood two by fours or hard metal or wood framing structures.

The CD needs to be fixed ASAP.

The men’s bathroom was generally clean and spacious; and if one had a wheelchair they could get in there.

The customer service was average. A few of the ladies were taking care of the drive-through as I went up to the counter for in-restaurant dining. I stood there for about a minute and a half; and then somebody noticed me and said they would be [with me] soon. There was no “Hi, How are you?” …. along with the rushed “Will be right there.”

As soon as the manager got to break away, she said hurried and impersonally “What would you like?“ How about, “Hello, how are you doing today and thank you for your patience while we were taking care of the customer in the drive-through!” …. and then say, “What would you like to order today sir?”

In the end, after my order came up, she did say thank you very much and have a good day. He’s generally nice person, but was rushed and should just take the time to pause and greet the customer and not be hurried. I’m glad the sense of urgency was definitely there, which is a plus , but always take the time to personally greet your patrons. I know it’s fast food.

I am a retail manager, so I understand Customer Service.

Finally, I want to give a heads up to anyone attempting to go to this Wendy’s because first and foremost, it is very difficult to access off the road. It’s between two motels and it’s only easy to access from basically One Direction through the parking lot off an adjacent nearby street.

Second, and this is the most important, that this bizarre, architecturally flawed building has an entrance on each side—the east and west side—that is so tiny and hard to see… and both of them are only accessible essentially by having to walk through the drive-through!

Even though there are yellow lines for a crosswalk, you have to stand in the lane where the cars go to enter each entrance; and it’s very narrow.

I do NOT recommend anyone with a wheelchair to come here because only the west entrance has this narrow passageway between the garbage can and the front of building “patio” to be able to stay on a narrow strip of sidewalk to enter the building without falling into the west side drive-through lane!

You have to see it for what I’m describing. It’s awful!

This is the strangest building for any restaurant I’ve...

Unfortunately I had the WORST EXPERIENCE! The worker DeeDee M. From store #3347 Charged me for something I did not order. After reviewing my order and calling to get an explanation she over talked me insisting she gave us a “discount” for these frosty reward cards. DeeDee did not allow me to even speak and when I called her out on her attitude she said I was one with an attitude. Very immature! To make matters worse she hung up on me. I understand giving a discount but that should have been discussed before applying it to my transaction even if it is “beneficial” and screaming in my ear “Would you rather pay more for your purchase?” Over and over again is not an explanation. This review is step 1 in my complaints on this horrible service. I will be following up with their customer care line during normal...

Terrible service, communication skills and zero critical thinking skills. I walked and arrived just in time for the lobby to be closed. No one answers so I had to talk though the takeout window. Two ladies inform me I cannot come in to order despite people already being inside, its not like there were only 2 staff present and myself... Since I walked there I cannot use the drive thru without a car. Can't even take my order at the takeout window even though I have my credit card in hand and I know what I want from a distance. Idk if they were creeped out or jusy foolish but that's the problem with young people, they listen to rules but cannot use common sense to help find a compromise! Only getting 1 star because of IHOP, thankfully they were open and staffed with some...
