Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Schererville

First off let me say staff was great. In spite of the restaurant being quite packed, we got our food pretty quickly. With that being said, this review is mostly about the food. I ordered the 2 chicken tenders sliders meal, medium spice level. My 10 year old daughter ordered the 2 piece tenders meal, mild spice level. Both meals come with fries. The presentation was great and the food was hot. Portion size was adequate. However, the tenders taste as though whom ever prepared them opened a jar of seasoned salt and just poured the whole bottle on the tenders. To say it was salty , was an understatement. I love seasoned food, but this was definitively in access. My daughters chicken tenders had the same problem as mine, way too salty. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t tell the difference between her mild tenders and my medium. I paid $34 for both meals , a medium soda and a individual macaroni and cheese which was mediocre at best. (Seems to be box macaroni and cheese). Since I had paid so much and did not want to waste my money. My daughter and I sat there and literally peeled the skin off the tenders and just ate the meat. I forgot to mention that the fries had some kind of special seasoning on them and were salty as well. They have a menu option of “no spice” for your tenders, which in the past I would have never even considered. However, if by chance I ever go back there, I would take my chance on “ no spice” versus risking it being too salty again. I almost failed to mention that the Dave’s sauce is pretty good. Place an online order and was to be picked up at 2:40 PM. I arrived at 2:40. My order was not ready waited another 10 minutes now it’s 2:50 PM. Still my order was not ready, but others was coming in placing orders and picking up orders and leaving out while I was waiting. I asked for a cup of ice to get some water. The girls said I will have to charge you for the cup. I’m saying really if my order was ready on time I would need a cup of water. I ordered two piece tenders with fries a mild and a hot. I finally received my order at 2:57 PM. No sorry for the inconvenience Just business as usual for these young folks. As I was driving to work late, I decided to nibble on one of my tenders. It was cold. The fries seem to be old and both pieces Was plain with flavor nor were they spicy the container was full of fingerprints of the sauce. They didn’t even have the decency to wipe that off before packaging it up. Very disappointed with my order not to mention the cost. I’ve ordered from them before and was satisfied but I just DON’T understand why these young people have no customer service skills and need to all return to training.
