9/23 Update (1/5): Well, I was willing to positively adjust this review rating after the reply I got on here on 9/13 to take the survey so they could address my concerns. Unfortunately, after taking the survey twice, I haven't gotten a response and it's been 10 days since I took the last one. I really value my time and energy, so I'm even more disappointed now. No one has to worry about replying to this review again. I'd hate for you to waste your time and energy, too.
9/9 Original Review (3/5): Y'know, there's a lot to love about this place. The staff is nice and the cakes are absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I just had an issue returning candles I purchased five days prior that I didn't need or use for my wife's birthday. I didn't know the decorated cakes came with a candle already. While I had my receipt for the cake, I didn't have my receipt for the unopened candles that I purchased separately. I'm fairly certain I didn't receive the receipt because the candles and bag they were in never left my car. I'm sure the manager was just following policy but it doesn't make a lot of business sense to deny returning $10 worth of candles and risk losing a possible loyal, frequent customer. The sad part was that I planned to get a cake there once a month and was about to give them the $10 right back by purchasing two of the smaller cakes for my anniversary today. Right now, I wouldn't dare give them another dollar because no one tried to provide a good customer experience. There was not a single effort by the manager to look up the transaction or make sure I left happy. I've been a retail store and district manager for years and I couldn't fathom allowing a customer walk away frustrated over such a trivial thing. I could somewhat understand if I didn't just purchase a $37 cake. I just don't see how denying a $10 return (for unopened merchandise) is worth losing a customer. I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble because they could have been doing their jobs as instructed. I just want to make someone is aware that standing their ground on a receipt policy for a $10 candle purchase just lost a customer who would have spent many times that in the store. For anyone reading this and trying to decide whether to try this place, I recommend you do. The cakes are amazing. Just make sure you ask for and keep your receipt. Don't rely on their understanding or...
Read moreNO UTENSILS??? So as we were traveling through Lake County back to Porter County with out of town guests we stopped in and everyone got little individual bundt cakes. After paying we discovered this location does not offer utensils, super weird sends everyone may not live close or have plans to you take their purchase home to eat. On our way back to the car I decided to stop in to Noodles right next door and just ask if they had utensils we could purchase if necessary. The girl at Noodles was super sweet and said that they have discussed the issue with the owner of the Bundt cake place previously because they have been inundated with people purchasing cake but not be able to get utensils from because they have been inundated with people purchasing cake but not be able to get utensils. She said they carried them for awhile but then stopped again once again leaving it up to noodles to provide utensils to their customers. I mean how cheap and irresponsible to your own customers do you have to be to not provide simple forks or spoons to your own customers to eat your product.
EDIT: As for the restaurant management replying by implying the product to be eaten "at home" as I stated we weren't close to home and probably not what you want to say to customers who are out and about shopping who might be considering just stopping into your shop for something sweet to eat. I would direct customers to go to other sweet shops in the same area who do provide utensils so that you can enjoy your product right away and not have to wait till you get home, there is a cupcake place a hop skipping a jump from here that...
Read moreI want to give the highest praises to Ryan and his wife and Nothing but Bundt Cakes. They went over and beyond the call of duty to make sure my father received his cakes.
I live out of state and placed an order for my father on Valentine's Day 2022. Mind you, I had told both my parents the delivery was coming that day and for my father to keep his cell phone with him.
I had numerous appointments this day so imagine my surprise when I had all of these missed calls from Ryan. Once I got out of my appointment he informed me he tried to make contact with my parents. He rang the doorbell, knocked on the door, and went to both sides of my parents house to no avail. Afterwards he left a note for them to pick them up. I begged him to please try again as they are elderly and there was no one available to go and pick them up. He stated he would make the rest of his deliveries and then try again. He also said he would call me before he retried delivery.
When he called I missed him again due to my second appointment. His wife also called and left a message saying she told him not to attempt again since he had not spoken back to me. When I heard the message I called him back and gave him permission to leave them at the door if my parents did not answer.
When he went to my parents again I made sure my father was at the door. He also texted me a picture of him delivering to my father. He told me he and his wife were the owners.
Thank you so much for all of your outstanding and phenomenal customer service. We truly appreciate you all and will...
