Stan's Donuts & Coffee — Restaurant in Schererville

We decided to try the new Stan’s and placed an online order for in store pick up. We expected some waiting because of how busy it was and waited patiently for our order. After about 35 minutes of seeing others get orders at about the same time we walked in, we asked an employee if they had received our order. It looked as if they had put our order in the wrong pick up place (by the drive thru instead of the in store online pickup spot), and was told one of our donuts wasn’t in stock, which they were able to sub for another donut. We got to the car and noticed our food/coffee was cold and our donut order was incorrect, which we had to go back in to fix. The bread on our sandwich was so overcooked that it fell apart like sand, and the hash brown was cold. We know new places have growing pains, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences we can recall experiencing. We just wish someone would have called out our name sooner, when our order was ready, or it was more clear where you are supposed to pick up online orders. We also just weren’t big fans of the donuts, but that’s a personal preference because we know lots of people like these donuts.

We will say Liz was really attentive and helpful in fixing the errors & we appreciate her kindness. We are writing this review in hopes it’ll help others (or staff)...

Sticky floors, welcome announcement when you walk in the door, so many fresh donuts and other pastries to try, and a variety of coffee and drink selection plus sandwiches - this was a unique experience.

At first I felt the donuts and sandwiches were priced pretty high, until I tried them and felt they were so fresh and tasty that they were priced fine. It's not the cheapest place to purchase donuts, but the quality is pretty high.

The service was just excellent. They welcome you once you walk in the door and are so patient with each person they assist. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Except that they clean their floors better. I visited about :30 minutes after they opened and the floors were so sticky, I was still sticking to the ground when I walked outside back to my car.

I tried a variety of donuts + a breakfast sandwich + a coffee drink.

The donuts were great - each one tasted better than the last. My favorite right now is the Pistachio Lemon Old-Fashioned! It's so good!

I also got a sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. I felt the amount of ingredients inside the croissant were lacking a bit. I included photos below.

I ordered a almond milk latte and it was perfect. Much better coffee than Dunkin...

Tried the new donut shop and unfortunately, our experience was pretty disappointing. The donuts themselves were slightly above average—we had the Buttercream Bismarck, Lestan, vanilla sprinkle, and the chocolate Nutella specialty donut. They were okay, but not worth the price.

The real issues were with the drinks and service. We ordered pumpkin spice lattes at over $8.50 each, and they were so bad they were undrinkable. On top of that, the wait times were awful, our drink order was lost, and the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. Workstations were messy and it all felt very unorganized.

This place has potential, but for the cost and the chaotic service, it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to...
