El Salto Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Schererville

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Salto in Indiana, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience thanks to Mauricio and his manager, Erin. From the moment I walked in, the level of service I received was unparalleled and has set a new standard for what restaurant service should be.

Mauricio greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, immediately making us feel welcome. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on, enhancing our dining experience significantly. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our needs were met promptly and with a cheerful demeanor. Every interaction with him felt personal and sincere, truly reflecting his passion for his work.

Erin, the manager, clearly leads by example. Her presence was felt throughout the restaurant, overseeing the smooth operation with grace and efficiency. She checked on us personally, adding a touch of hospitality that went above and beyond. It was evident that she cultivates a culture of excellence among her staff, as seen in the seamless teamwork and positive atmosphere.

The combination of Mauricio's exceptional service and Erin's exemplary leadership made this visit unforgettable. They embody what restaurant service should be—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. El Salto is fortunate to have such dedicated individuals on their team. This was, without a doubt, the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. Kudos to Mauricio and Erin for setting the bar so high

Our first date!...

I had such a great time at El Salto’s Halloween costume party in Schererville! The place looked amazing and DJ Chico kept the energy going all night, definitely one of the highlights. My server did a great job and my food was delicious.

A few things that could make next year even better: the costume contest didn’t start until around 11:30 p.m., even though the event started at 9. By that time, a lot of people had already left, which took away some of the excitement. Starting closer to the advertised time would help keep the crowd involved.

The judging also felt a little inconsistent, maybe having categories like Most Creative, Scariest, and Sexiest with different prize levels could make it feel more balanced and fair for everyone.

Since it was promoted as an adult event, I was a bit surprised to see kids in the contest, it changed the vibe a little for those of us who went all out with adult-themed costumes.

Overall though, it was a super fun night, and I really appreciate the effort the El Salto team put into making it festive. Maybe next year, participants could even get a small thank-you like a coupon or something for joining the contest.

During my recent trip from out of town, I had the absolute pleasure of dining here, a spot that came highly recommended by a friend. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere fostered by all of the staff!

I'd recommend the flautas and chicken quesadilla as they were cooked to perfection, however, the star of the evening was the strawberry mango margarita. If you're looking to indulge, look no further!

What truly elevated the entire experience was the impeccable service. Erin went above and beyond to ensure that our first-time experience here was amazing, making excellent recommendations and checking in with us just the right amount. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism were truly the cherry on top of a fantastic meal.
