Kinda lacking in the customer service department.
I went to this theater back when it first opened. At that time it was a great theater. I've been back there occasionally when I come back home to visit family. My mom is nearly deaf and I was excited to find out that this theater provided closed captioning (CC) devices for the hearing impaired.
On July 17, 2025, my parents and I wanted to go see the new Superman movie. I tried to call the theater to make sure they still had their CC devices. I wasn't able to reach anyone at this theater or at Showplace 16. After 4 attempts, I just double checked their website and it stated they still had their devices, we just had to check them out from thier customer service area. We arrived at the theater early, purchased out tickets, and proceeded to their customer service desk. We didnt see anyone at the customer service desk, so we asked the ticket salesperson for the CC device. She explained to us that their devices didnt work. As the salesperson was explaining, the customer service person returned and continued to explain that their system was taken down so they could replace it with a new system. This would be nice to know prior to driving out to their location and purchasing tickets and other plans could have been made. My mom was very accommodating and sat through the movie, but I was irritated. I asked the customer service person why they weren't answering their phones and explained that I tried calling throughout the day. She stated that their phones at both locations have not been working.
So in short, they do not maintain their ADA devices and they do not maintain their phone lines in their large public...
Read moreI was greeted by a gentleman scanning tix who was a nice guy. The people behind the concessions counter need some Very Constructive criticism. There were multiple people behind the counter and they (1) didn't understand or didnt care that Stubz members get priority in line, (2) one woman had her phone in her hand while taking orders and getting popcorn, (3) the food cashier saw i had a credit to use, but didnt ask if i wanted to use it. She was so busy trying to get on her cell phone that she neglected the customer, (4) there was cleaner next to the butter and the salt shaker was empty. The food areas needed some attention, but people were so busy talking that the area just remained unsanitary. AMC PLEASE DO BETTER AT THIS LOCATION. IT IS RIDICULOUS. As you can see via my pics, there's a woman on the phone behind the counter, the cleaning solutions are on the counter, and the wet signs are up. The gentlemen cleaning up the theatres after the movie were super sweet. I believe the theatre cleaners' names were Jason and Josh?
The actual theatre was clean, and the cleaners were very punctual. The seats don't recline and the cup holders...
Read moreNo better than its sister location - Schererville 16. The seats are hard and need to be replaced but, hey, at least we can assign seats and get a premier line. It's funny how other theaters have recliner seats and even those seats are shown in the commercial before the movie but Indiana can't have them. We pay extra for A-List and go to Illinois for most of movies since they have the recliner seats. They're location in Hobart is a Classic (read: old) theater. They have comfortable seats but no premier line or assigned seating. It's getting to the point that it would be better to pay for Disney+ and HBOMax to get their movies at home than pay for A-List. Which means AMC can't really raise rates. If they did, we'd have to drop out because their theaters would no longer be worth it. The concession is almost always out of the snacks we like and the popcorn is not that good without "butter" and salt. Good thing they can't make decisions based...
