I never thought I'd be highly recommending Teibel's. They have kind of a dated feel with old-school (classic?) menu options. Our family has been there multiple times throughout the years, and it felt like a restaurant more for my parents than for the younger generations. Despite my impression, they are actually keeping up with the times. I was really impressed when we went there recently. I asked the server about their gluten-free options, and she KNEW immediately what was and wasn't gluten-free. That is rare for most restaurants, sadly. She also offered to get me some gluten-free rolls, and my meal came out with a little "gluten-free" flag on it. When we were ordering dessert, I asked if the lava cake could be made gluten-free, fully expecting that to be an impossibility. But she said YES, they make a gluten-free lava cake! 🤯 Lava cake is my favorite dessert, but I haven't had it in years as no one else makes it gluten-free (and baking a GF lava cake myself would be a real challenge). I was absolutely ecstatic. And it was SO good! Really, truly excellent customer service. They are leading the way for serving gluten-free customers.

I hadn't been to Tiebel's for nearly 50 years but was so happy to happen across this great place again today! It was a special place to visit as a child and still is. If you're a fan of mid century modern design, you'll find yourself in a time capsule of "cool"! The service at lunch today was excellent. The young lady who greeted and seated us was elegant. My wife's turkey dinner was good, but not exceptional, but my perch was excellent! The rolls were fresh, the slaw was light and sweet, the green beans tasted homemade and fresh, and the pickled beets and cranberry sauce were both refreshing. I can't wait to try the fried chicken (which our neighboring table patrons said was terrific) and the filet mignon. The perch filets were served with potato choice, veggies, lemon and drawn butter. A scoop of ice cream was included for dessert. I'm anxious to return!

We ate there with friends for dinner. We were seated right away; this is a very big place. It is very well kept and very old school in every way. The service was top notch with very attentive wait staff. I ordered the Sliced Roast Turkey, and my wife went with the Chicken and Lake Perch Combo. My Turkey was good, though slightly on the dry side but the gravy helped with that. The dressing and potatoes were good. My wife’s dinner was very large, and she said it all tasted good. She didn’t agree with the reviews about the chicken being the best, but she said it was fine. Next time she will just get the Perch because that was fantastic. If you want an old school restaurant that will remind you of the olden days, this is the one for you.

I've been to this place two times. Both times left disappointed. The pictures show food from "clean silverware" I ordered a dinner salad and got a side salad after receiving the correct salad with the wrong dressing. They refused to allow me to order from the kid's menu for my kid. Stating "We are only allowing orders from the dinner selection." I went with a party of 15 to celebrate my grandfather's 90th birthday. He enjoyed it. However, he's 90 and this place caters to the "older" population. Many people in my group complained about bland food, dirty silverware, and the price of the food. We will only be returning IF my grandfather asks to return. Terrible.

Service was quick and friendly, however; the overall experience fell short of the reputation that we think of about Tiebels. Ordered shrimp and was brought a Lake Perch meal. The Lake Perch was very good. Soup was warm but not hot. The salad trio, which was a favorite family go to back in the day, normally would be served cold or chilled and it was room temperature the lettuce it was laying on was quite deteriorated and soggy, making us think it had been put on the plate the day before. Everything was just okay, not bad, but not the better quality dining experience that we were expecting at Tiebels (when a lunch portion was 22.00 and dinner portion was 38.00)

Dec 23rd. 715pm. Restaurant was not very busy.The food was fine. Filets were delicious but baked potatoes were a rock. Relish salad was yummy. Service was very slow for the whole meal. Exactly 2 hrs from being seated to when we left. I'm thinking because we had a child they seated us in the section near the bar that was almost empty, not the main room. 10 min to order our drinks,15 min to get them, then 10 more to order dinner. Our waitress didn't have any other tables there and the 2 other tables were finishing up when we were arriving. 🤷🏽‍♀️ The speed of service really made the meal a bit painful. That's way too long with 2 kids.
