I went here for the first time a few days ago and don't think I'll go back. I ordered the Melting Pot skillet, which was delicious but, unfortunately, was not even close to hot (except deep in the middle of the skillet). I took about two or three bites and was done because I can't think of anything worse than lukewarm food. The flavors were there, and it was cooked well (except the ham looked like it was just taken out a bag, chopped and thrown in, not browned first), but I didn't enjoy it until I took it home and reheated it. I got the skillet, which comes with a side (I got the French toast, which was also delicious!) for $12, which was a good buy to me. Sadly, I despise eating off of tattered and worn plastic, like the brown, chipped up, plastic "skillet" this meal comes in. The last straw, however, was the attitude of the waitress. As a former server, I always give them leniency (and very good tips when deserved); it is exhausting to serve ungrateful, rude diners, as servers do at least once a day. However, basic politeness, "thank you, you're welcome, no problem..." should never go out the window. Toward the end of the meal, I asked, "When you get a chance, may we have four small containers, please?" She didn't say one word, just turned and walked away. A few minutes later, she's walking toward us - with the containers in her hand - but decides to PASS OUR TABLE to check on the two other tables behind us first! As she's at one table, she puts my containers UNDER HER ARM so she can grab something off their table w/both hands. What in the world makes you think I want to put my food in the containers you just had under your sweaty, nasty, unsanitary armpits!? I left that first container behind, packed my food, paid, and got out, leaving a tip reflective of her service. I didn't really care for the way we were treated (it IS Indiana and I AM Black), and if I ever return, I'll simply...

This has been a comfort restaurant for me and my family for over 50 years. I don't know what has happened but it has gone SO downhill, this is not the round the clock I grew up with. Lemon Rice is a staple for any region native, and you cant find it anywhere but that area. My husband and I went twice in the last week and let me tell you how disappointing it is that the soup is now just lemon goo. There is MAYBE a whole 6 grains of rice per bowl. My tots came out still frozen and when I brought it the waitress attention (who didn't come back by until my husband was halfway done with his meal) she was just like oh, ok. She didn't even seem shocked it happened, no apology. What's disgusting is they brought me back the exact same plate of tots. It even had the tot I bit into on the plate still, they just threw my bitten food back in their deep fryer. Anyone in the industry knows that's a no no. On the other visit I made while in the area. I ordered a medium pepper jack burger. It came well done and completely flavorless. Both visits I aske for a side of ranch and it was nasty and watery. It also came with the lemon goo soup.

The service is also not great. I see they are holding open interviews and I understand staffing is difficult everywhere, but I know growing up they had staff who had been there 10, 20, 30+ years. Where have all those servers gone? It appears they replaced all of them with teenagers who just do not care. Both visits I had two different young ladies who never refilled drinks, checked the tables, nothing. Id have to flag them down for the check (or cold tots). I'm assuming there was a management change but they need to acquire some standards for their staff.

This place was such a huge part of my life growing up, my husband as well and its sad to see it go downhill this way. It used to be our first stop when we pulled into town but that...

its really unfortunate because i was excited and wanted to like this place from a previous good morning experience. but now i wont be coming back, especially with now seeing many other reviews of other people having similar experiences. this morning i came in with my baby and ordered there morning special the exact same as last time i came. Im pretty sure my server was new but she kindof lacked common sense. I wanted to dine in but my baby was not having it this particular morning so i asked before my food even came out if i could have it to go instead. she said yea nicely but then its like i had to ask for every single thing after that separately. she came out with my food on a tray and then she asked me again if i wanted it to go i said yes. then she sees my hot chocolate still full and asks if i need a cup for that i say yes. then by now its been 3 times she’s come back and i ask her for a bag to carry the food in because i have a baby i. a carseat, a diaper bag, and like 2 others things to carry in my hands she says yes. then im like kinda shocked because no ketchup, utensils, syrup n butter for my pancakes, nothing was brought by her just the bag and my food in a box. i then ask the manager for syrup n i don’t even bother to ask for the rest. once i finally start eating i then realize she didn’t even make sure my sausages were there. so i paid for missing food and 0 courtesy of basic “to go” items… i worked in food service every single position in different restaurants and even a Dennys would make sure that anything bagged to go would have everything needed in it INCLUDING the...

Around the Clock - Schererville, IN Midpoint meetups are always a great way to catch up with friends, and we decided on Around the Clock diner as a halfway spot. Unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. The diner’s ambiance and decor felt dated—perhaps charming to some, but it didn’t add much to the overall experience for us. As for the food, my friend ordered the Chicken & “Brick” Waffles, and I opted for the Veggie “Onion” Skillet with French Toast. (Emphasis on the word Brick & Onion) While the portions were fair, the taste was far from flavorful. It’s safe to say their cooking style may cater to specific, acquired tastes. Service didn’t improve the experience much either. Our waitress, though polite, was cold and inattentive, which only added to the underwhelming vibe. A final rating of 4/10 for the food and a 5/10 for the service feels generous. The standout at this diner was their dessert display. 🍰 Though I didn’t try any, the baked goods looked absolutely scrumptious. Perhaps this diner’s real calling is as a bakery! If they shifted focus to selling sweets and shipped in lighter, pre-prepared meal options, it might revitalize the space and attract more cultured patrons. Overall, Around the Clock has potential, but as it stands, it’s not a place I’d rush to in the near future.

OMG we are still talking about this 6 months later!!! 3 of us Seniors just happened upon the place - we were visiting the area and going back to Illinois but wanted to stop for something to eat before getting on the highway. We saw this and have good memories of Round the Clock where we live but it is not there anymore. So we stopped. What we are still talking about was the price and the food - $6.95 for seniors for anything on the menu including full dinners - soup or salad, rolls, butter, entree, sides, drink and dessert. We kept asking - is it ok if we order this? (not believing) yes, $6.95. So we all 3 ate full dinners from salad to dessert, incl drinks and got a bill of $20.85 plus tax (and tip of course) for 3. It was good too. And we kept saying no wonder everyone is moving to Indiana LOL. Will be back. Additional Visit: Went back after COVID-19 a year later. Wasn't sure if the Senior Special would still be avail. and it was! Had meatloaf and pot roast dinners with rolls, butter, diet cokes, salad with blue cheese dressing, 2 sides (mashed potatoes and peas), coconut cream and cherry pie for dessert. See new photos.
